Dr. Cohan is a very thorough and compassionate doctor! He takes the time to discuss all aspects of my health. We reviewed past health issues and what may help in the future. We also went over my laboratory results and how they compared to the previous tests.

This is one of my wonderful doctors! He takes the time to find out how you are. He doesn't rush. Best of all, he explains the medical terms in plain English so that you understand your condition, your medications, and what you need to do to get better.

There is no better doctor than Dr. Michael Cohan. He saved my life! My kidneys were failing and he devised a plan to stop the spread of the problem. He explained the process and was always available. He is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and takes time to explain everything. He's the BEST. I travel 1150 miles to see him. That says it all!

Best doctor ever. He spends quality time at office visits explaining in detail of tests taken and follow up. Dr Cohan is empathic and is a good listener. We even received a surprising and unexpected phone call on a Sunday evening regarding some lab results. Even though we had an appointment that following Wednesday he wanted to put our minds at ease with good news.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Cohan for 25 years as my primary care physician. He’s a consummate professional and very thorough. Over the years I’ve had to see several specialists for varying things and they’ve all been complimentary of “how smart he is” or how well he prepares his patients for a specialist visit by doing the proper testing first. I’d highly recommend Dr. Cohan to anyone looking for a good doctor.

Dr. Cohan has been our family physician for over 25 years. Not once during that timeframe have we ever had a bad experience. He is technically outstanding, his bedside manner is second to NONE!! Me and my husband moved an hour away from Elmhurst but we would never think about transferring to another Doctor. He is without a doubt one of the top professionals in his field.

James Lazzarini – Jan 07, 2021
I first saw Dr. Cohan over 4 years ago now. Before that, I was a healthy 25 Y/O living a normal life when things took a turn for the worse. After seeing several doctors and a few abnormal blood/urine test results, I was referred to Dr. Cohan in Nephrology. There are great doctors in Nephrology at Elmhurst, but Dr. Cohan was the best fit for my personality and more. He is kind, caring, straightforward, and very down to earth. I was quickly diagnosed with stage 4 SLE that was attacking my kidneys combined with ANCA Vasculitis. He makes sure YOU understand what is going on and WHY he is doing what he is doing. I could've needed a transplant, dialysis, or worse. He prepared a treatment plan immediately and did extra research to ensure he was giving me the best treatment possible. After my treatment plan and some time; I got my life back. I now live symptom free and owe it all to Dr. Cohan. He may have saved my life or at the very least, life as I've always known it. Best doctor I know.

I have been a patient of Dr Cohan for 24+ years. Each and every time I have been treated with the utmost respect by a "CARING" Dr. Cohan. His early diagnosis of my Diabetes has enabled me to live an active, healthy life, for which I am extremely grateful. I have unfortunately just moved away and his shoes will be very hard to fill, but I know that if I were in need he would be there for me.
