Dr Coan is very knowledgeable, but appears to have difficulty explaining things. He must be pushed for answers. Seems very unconcerned. I feel he does not offer the close follow up that most patients feel is needed or warranted. Most likely because he is very busy, appointments are hard to get. His demeanor is cool and a bit off putting. Patients want answers today, not 6 months from now. We don’t want to “wait and see” how things play out. If you want better, chose someone else.

After waiting 3 months to get in Dr Coan was quite rude and before even looking at my test results mentioned he probably wouldn't be treating me long term even though my test came back positive for Lupus. And then made a followup appointment for another 8 weeks out - nearly 6 months without any kind of treatment. He was cold and unfeeling and unkind, and treated me poorly. I am 67 and in bad health so I find his behavior shocking. I would never recommend him to anyone that needs any kind of help

Not a pleasant one! Does not listen; arrogant beyond words; highly reckless (at least from my personal experiences) in prescribing drugs--despite having my medical records right in front of him, showing clear contraindications--which could have been disastrous if I took the good doctor's advice. My personal opinion (mixed with facts from my visits): I wouldn't send my enemy to this fellow in good conscience. I can see why he's no longer with Rockwood.
