Dr. Michael Carlson completed an ACL reconstruction for me. He is very knowledgable and has the ability to help you completely understand the injury, the anatomy involved, and the recovery process. He was very kind and patient explaining needed information. He performed an amazing operation. He did a fantastic job and I haven't had any problems with my knee. I am currently playing soccer, hiking, running again! . I would definitely recommend him to anyone! Best ortho surgeon in Utah!

Dr Carlson would probably be a good doctor if he wasn't associated with Revere Health. Revere follows the Canadian model. It took my wife 3 weeks for them to SCHEDULE an appointment that was an ADDITIONAL 3 weeks from when they finally got around to it. And then Revere rushes doctors from patient to patient. Time from Physical Therapy referral to doctor visit: 6 weeks. Time with doctor once seen: 5 minutes. Thanks Revere. If my insurance would let me go elsewhere, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Carlson says...

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University and then attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. I completed a 5-year Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Nebraska/Creighton Health Foundation. During My residency and fellowship I served as the team physician for many team sports. I completed one of the top sports and arthroscopy fellowships at the renowned Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI), pioneers in minimally invasive surgical techniques where I focused on arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow and ankle. During my fellowship, I published research in many scientific journals.  I am a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Sub-specialty Certification in Sports Medicine.
