The best Orthopedic Surgeon in the world! Dr Burns and his assistant JJ Scerba are both professional, friendly, the best in the business, and strict but if you’re going to go through this surgery you better do what the doctor tells you or you did it all for nothing. Dr Burns and Jj replaced my first hip in 2004 and it felt so good not having any pain whatsoever I had my other hip replaced as soon as I could. That was 15 years ago and my hips are both going strong! Dr Burns has replaced many joints in my immediate family and friends and no one has ever had 1 ounce of trouble or problems with any of the work Dr Burns and Jj have performed. Their staff is exceptional in friendliness, professionalism, accuracy and promptness! Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment as soon as possible with Dr Burns for any type of joint or bone pain, you won’t regret it !

Dr Burns has replace both of my hips and both of my mothers hips has done great knee surgery and joint replacements for family members and friends and not one complaint whatsoever . Dr Burns actually canceled my first hip replacement surgery due to a cyst being on my hip. He said if he did surgery with the cyst on my hip that I would be in worse shape than I am now so I had to have the cyst removed and then we rescheduled the surgery. A greedy, quack doctor would have operated on me and took the risk, but not Dr Burns! JJ, Dr. Burns’ Physicians Assist has a great personality and he knows his stuff, he has to or he would not be working with Dr Burns that’s for sure !

excellent bedside manner.during the initial visit told me exactly what would happen before, during and after my surgery. was strict but kind about telling me he would work me hard at doing my physical therapy. was very encouraging and thorough when appearing for my post surgery appointments. if need be I will not hesitate to rely on him in the future for any other orthopedic surgeries needed. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burns for several years. This past January he performed a total knee replacement on my left knee. The experience from the very first session with Dr. Burns and JJ, his PA, has been exceptional. I couldn't be happier with my new knee and would highly recommend both Dr. Burns and JJ to anyone needing this procedure.

Total knee replacement Highly recommend him, his office + staff in St. Louis/Mercy —also recc Mercy Takes time, listens + explains well Gave me options to try before replacement Has cared for my family for over 25 years Trusted him to replace my knee—I was in a great deal of pain, but concerned about recovery. He waited until I was ready, explained procedure step-by-step. JJ Scerba is his PA, equally compassionate, careful to explain + listens I will have him replace the other knee this winter

Doctor Burns has performed surgery on my left and right rotator cuffs in the past 8+ months. My left shoulder rehab went great and I am at 18+ weeks post-op now on the right shoulder. The surgeries were a success and the shoulder pain and discomfort I experienced are now gone thanks to Doctor Burns. His attention to detail and care are exceptional. Thanks to Doctor Burns, I am ready to golf again. Doctor Burns, his assistant JJ, and the entire staff are great!

I went to Dr. Burns for a few years with pain in my right knee. He took the time to explain different options for relief. I never felt pressured to have the knee replaced, he always said I would know when it was time I finally got the knee replaced in January 2018. Dr Burns and JJ took time before and after the surgery to answer all my questions and explain what to expect. I would recommend Dr Burns and his office staff to anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Burns did a knee replacement on my left knee in Feb of 2017. Just had my 1 year checkup and everything is great. The knee is 90-100% better than the old knee was. I would recommend Dr. Burns to anyone contemplating a knee replacement or for that matters any orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Burns is a kind, caring physician who cares about what the patient needs and makes certain the patient understands the situation. He gives options of care, with explanation of each one, and lets the patient choose from his options. In the hospital before surgery his kindness spilled over into the patient room along with his nurse practitioner, JJ. I would recommend Dr. Burns to any who would be seeking his care. He always greets you with a smile, welcome handshake and reassurance.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burns for over ten years. I am an active senior citizen and he has treated me over the years for minor injuries and a chronic knee problem. In October 2016, I had a total knee replacement. I have always received excellent health care from Dr. Burns and his physician assistant, Joseph Scerba. They are both easy to talk with, provide information about options for treatment and answer questions. I have recommended Dr. Burns and his office staff to many people.

Dr. Burns has performed both of my completely successful knee replacements (2010 and 2011). I have the highest respect for his expertise and skill. and I'm very grateful that I'm pain free and no longer take anti-inflammatory meds. Seriously, I was on the way to a permanent wheelchair within 6-12 months had I not had the surgeries. I would recommend him without the slightest hesitation. His PA, Mr. Scerba, and the rest of the staff are equally professional and very efficient.

I have known Dr. Burns since 1996 when I needed a hip replacement. He also did my other hip in 2004. I had an appointment recently to have both hips checked an they are both doing great. That's 21 years on the 1996 hip. Needless to say, Dr. Burns is an outstanding surgeon, I would highly recommend him.
