Just repaired a tendon for me. Excellent surgeon. Incredibly thorough. Great outcomes! Would recommend him to anyone!
Erin - Thank you so much for the amazing words you left! I will be sure to pass along to everyone here. Best, Sarah

Dr. Brown did not listen when I explained how I sustained my injury, going so far as to assure me I must be 'mistaken' about how I injured it. Being a surgeon, he is an advocate of surgery regardless of the severity of the injury. He pushed and pushed surgery, although it was not absolutely necessary, by his own admission. A snake in a doctor's clothing and not someone I would trust with my healthcare, let alone a surgery.

Excellent surgeon.

when I first Referred to Dr.Brown from my previous Dr. In may 2016. I was a little nervous because of his health grade. I was assured by my previous drs nurse that Dr. Brown was one of the best surgeons in the Richmond area. Dr brown was very knowledgeable and has done wonders for me. One thing I can agree with is his bedside manner is not so good. I almost canceled him until I realized I don't need a overly nice dr. I need one with facts and if it came down to it great surgery hands.I'm pleased

Amazing surgeon! He is professional and takes the time to listen and explain. You will often have to wait when you have an appointment, but I could not be more pleased with the care I received. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Brown.
in Richmond, VA |
Dr. Brown was thorough and patient with the multitude of questions I posed. And when I needed to reschedule an appointment due to an unexpected work obligation he and his team made it very convenient. I would highly recommend him.
in Ashland, VA |
This surgeon deserves much higher scores! Most of his ratings, unfortunately, have been based upon his less-than-outgoing manner rather than his surgical skills, and I feel this is a big disservice to would-be patients. If you're looking for a highly skilled foot/ankle surgeon, Dr. Brown is a terrific choice. He did a great job on my foot and is highly regarded by other surgeons. (Should he smile more? Well, yes.)

What's up with the court reporter in the room during the examination? She seemed to be transposing the conversations between the patient and the doc. Weird. Your patients are expected to wait for more than an hour after the scheduled appointment time for an early AM weekday appointment? How'd did you get so far behind so early in the day? I think the doc fussed at me. Evidently, I should've remembered His specific verbal-only Commandments from 3 weeks ago. I inconvenienced Him really.
New York, NY |
I thought he was condescending and arrogant and acted as if my input and insights into my own condition were unimportant and of no consequence to his extraordinary medical mind. He is extremely impressed with the fact that he is a surgeon, which he made a point of telling me at least three times during the visit. He has a lot to learn, perhaps not about being a surgeon but about interacting with his patients.
After being seen an hour past scheduled appointment time, he was rude and personality was zero. I seemed to be taking up his precious time, even though he was an hour behind with no explanation or apology from him or any office staff. Did not listen and gave me a boot and physical therapy that was no help to my problem at all. Just a condescending and cold person. Would never see him again or tell anyone else to.

This was the second doctor I us to go to....i had several visits and he basically told me its all in my head and that from all his experience as a specialist he could offer therapy as if I knew the best treatment. Not comforting what so ever. I would recommend him to no one. Condescending and basically a man that feels like he needs to prove himself. I took no pleasure in having him as my doctor. I improved non. And got no answers.
Richmond, VA |
Treated me like I was an inconvenience for calling the on call Doctor on a Saturday. He was rude and ccondescending. I told him I could not remember what day it was and he said you know it is Saturday or you would not be getting me in the phone. He questioned whether I really wanted him to get in touch with my doctor. I was then reminded that he was the same egotistical doctor who worked on my foot, but acted like I was making it all up. He humored me with a boot. Clearly an unhappy man.

Dr. Brown listens to your concern and diagnoses the issue quickly. He gave me a lot of remedy options prior to surgery and I apprecate that. He has great bedside manner and is thorough in his examinations.
