Dr. Bernard treats cardiac arrhythmias and has extensive experience with complex catheter ablations. He also works with cardiac device implantation and monitoring and the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. His research includes oral anticoagulant strategies for cardiac device implantation and complex ablation procedures. Dr. Bernard graduated from Emory University in 1997 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He earned his joint medical and graduate degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 2005. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2008. He returned to the Medical University of South Carolina for Cardiology and Electrophysiology Fellowship training, finishing in December 2012.
