Bone Infection
I lived with chronic pain for 13 years and saw many orthopedic surgeons through the years! Dr. Azzam was the only one that took the time and figured out what was wrong with my leg. After the surgery I had no pain in my lower left leg. Going from pain every time I took a step to no pain at all. Dr. Azzam is a life saver I thought I would have to live with the pain the rest of my life. I would recommend him to everyone and anyone!

Torn Meniscus Surgery
Dr. Azzam is very personable and professional. I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus and he thoroughly explained the process in a clear manner. Surgery went as expected and the recovery has been much better than expected. Highly recommended.

Definitely would recommend Dr Azzam
I fell on the ice going to my mailbox. I knew immediately it was broke. Went to ER and they referred me. He explained what needed to be done and I was very scared but he told me it would never heal or I wouldn’t have mobility in it if I didn’t have surgery. He operated within 3 days of break and it is healing perfectly. I would definitely go to him again if I ever needed to. Very friendly until he tried to move my wrist the next day!

I severed the large tendons at the right knee in a horrific fall and lost the use of my right leg. Dr. Azzam executed the most amazing reparation and reconstruction of all the tendons, etc. with his amazing surgical skills. Within three months I am brace and cane free and walking on my own with the ability to begin strength training of my right knee/leg. I highly recommend Dr. Azzam not only for his surgical expertise but also for the wonderful relationship between doctor and patient. He explains everything so that you understand exactly what happened to cause the problem, but also how the healing process is advancing.

Patient Care
I sustained a broken fibula as the result of a motorcycle incident. I was referred to Dr. Azzam by my primary care physician after x-rays confirmed that I had indeed broken a bone. When I arrived at Dr. Azzam's office I was immediately greeted by his receptionist who checked me in. She was efficient in addition to being pleasant. Within minutes I was called back by the medical assistant. She prepared me for my consult. I felt she had done this many times before yet was still convivial and attentive to my particular concerns. After being prepped, Dr. Azzam came in and introduced himself to me. He asked all the right questions as he examined my injury. He had already reviewed my x-rays so he was prepared with his recommendations. I did not like his initial recommendation. We discussed my concerns. We discussed options and he was clear in stating the rationale behind his recommendation. I finally agreed and we followed through. Today I have completed my treatment and am pleased.

I had an issue with my hand and Dr. Azzam was able to get me in the day I called. He then also assisted in getting me into an MRI within a day or two where I would have waited weeks otherwise. Surgery went well and little scaring. I was extremely impressed with the fact you can barely see where I had surgery.

Dr. Azzam rescued me in the ER almost 2 years ago when I had a bad fall and broke my arm! He was the only doctor available or I would have had to wait a few days..... I would have died!!! He got me into surgery quickly and had to place plates and screws in my arm. It healed great and was able to get full motion back shortly after recovering! I recently had the plates removed (my decision) I was in and out of surgery and back home in 3 hours! I was able to return to work the next day. This is the 4th time I have broke my arm and this was by far the best experience I have had! Dr. Azzam is a perfectionist, very caring and easy going! I would recommend him any day :)

Dr. Azzam performed ankle surgery on my Mom after she took a spill. Throughout our continuing interactions with him both in the hospital and at his office, he and his staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. They always solicit questions and take all the time necessary to make sure we're both clear on what's going on and what's coming next. We highly recommend Dr. Azzam and his team.

I first met Dr. Azzam in the hospital after a bad fall which fractured my humerus (arm). First time breaking a bone and was very anxious, nervous and worried. He was very detailed in his explanation of what his plan was to heal my bone, patient in answering all my questions in hospital and then once I was at home. I would call with anything that didn't feel right and he was very good at returning my calls to calm my nerves. It's very rare these days to find a doctor who calls his patients himself (not a nurse) and I appreciate that because it shows interest and concern. Now he's opening his own practice in Overland Park which will be most convenient to visit for follow up visits. Thank you Dr. Azzam for all your personal care during this difficult time.

Michael Azzam is hands-down the BEST!. I had an unfortunate fall which caused a severe injury to my left knee. My meniscus was completely detached from the root and required immediate surgery. I was very apprehensive about having the surgery done as we all have heard the horror stories of never coming back to be 100%. He eased my fears and I decided to have it done. I am so thankful I did. My quality of life is now 110%. Dr. Azzam is not like other doctors he does not carry the god complex. He listens to you, he hears what you say and he wants to help. Did I mention he's also easy on the eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Azzam
