Dr was excellent l had many symptoms but from the beginning she had an idea of what was going on. Went over results of colonoscopy and endoscopy. Discussed bowel movements problems and solutions. Treated infection and set up two other procedures.

Would not recommend, poor follow-up
I repeatedly have to follow-up on the patient portal I use to get Dr. Abramowitz to respond. I have a condition that is impacting my quality of life and I find it absurd that she cannot respond to simple questions within 48 hours. I need to determine next steps with her and it's been over a week since she has replied. I find her manner dismissive and I would not recommend her given my experiences with her and her lack of response and empathy. I'm at the point where I am going to seek out a different GI specialist that takes my insurance because I'm very frustrated.

Excellent Experience
Had a procedure and a follow up with Dr. Abramowitz. Procedure went according to plan. Small delays, but that had to do with the coordination of many different people (all very professional). Post procedure, I had a follow up video appointment with the Dr. I missed my window for call in, the staff were able to fit me in an hour later. I called, waited about 10 minutes, and then had face time with the Dr. No issues really. Found this to be a professional, satisfying encounter. Would recommend.

Very likely to refer friends to Dr Abramowitz.
Assuring. After been quoted ridiculous wait times at my local Gastro Dr, I made an appointment to see Dr Abramowitz as I've always had luck with Weill Cornell doctors. I was fortunate that there was a cancellation and my appointment was scheduled for 2 days later. I was ushered into the examination room in mere minutes. I hadn't even finished my new patient paperwork. Dr Abramowitz was caring and polite and questioned me in depth about my issue. I never felt rushed or felt she was uncaring. She was thorough and recommended what I believe is an appropriate course of action.

Sat in the patient room for close to an hour waiting for Dr. Abromowitz, and once she arrived it felt extremely rushed. I felt like her questions were not phrased in a polite/kind manner. Horrible attitude. Following the appointment, I never heard back. We never discussed my test results. She clearly forgot about me, or did not care. Do not recommend.

Dr Abramowitz always looks tired and in a hurry. She is more interested in what she has to say than in listening to her patients. She might be a good doctor but it might be long before this translates into good patient care.

Poor communication post- colonoscopy
My husband, 83 at the time, was unable to discuss his test results with Dr. Abramowitz - ever. In the recover room the nurse tracked her down on her cell as she was leaving the building because she had not come to speak with us about the results, as we had requested. The doctor spoke to us for less than 2 minutes with traffic noises making her inaudible. We called and messages to arrange a discussion for over a month. Ultimately we found the test results on the WCM portal that said he needed a follow-up exam the next year. Her PA spoke with us briefly we never were able to discuss the test results with the doctor. Extraordinarily poor communication.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Abramowitz for 6 years. The biggest issue comes in the past two years. She has been unresponsive, unreliable and a big disappointment overall. I verbalized these issues to her in an in person appointment in 2021 and she apologized, but nothing has changed. I’m again experiencing a flare. I tried making an appt for a colonoscopy since November, 2021. She never replied. I saw her on Friday, 2/18/22 at 9:45am, told her my symptoms and she agreed to prescribe steroids that day. At 3:30pm, I reached out to her office b/c the prescription hadn’t been submitted as we headed into a holiday weekend. Mind you, I’m losing blood and unable to hold food / water in my body. Her nurse called & asked me what Dr. Abramowitz & I talked about as there weren’t any notes from my visit. I was going to go to urgent care, but the nurse was able to call in the Rx. Such an unpleasant experience.

I will no longer be seeing Dr. Abramowitz after an initial meeting. I found her focused intently on her computer, not very responsive to my questions and concerns. Furthermore, the bag I was given to facilitate returning stool samples turned out to contain directions that had nothing to do with the containers provided. That in itself isn't the worst thing in the world. However, I called THREE days ago for information, had to leave a message - no one seems to answer the phone in her office - and have not been called back since. It's very unsettling to be faced with this lack of urgency, revealing a general indifference to a patient's needs and concerns.

One of the worst care providers in existence. She does everything as a tactic to protect her own skin, not for the patient. It is either money, or not, for her. She will see you as that alone. If she does not believe she will make money off of you, your treatment will change according to her desire to fill her bank account. I don't understand how she is still a practicing physician. You will be treated as a dollar sign. She is skimming off the backs of her patients to continuing practicing elsewhere, opening more offices, putting more patients in harm's way!

I waited about 35 minutes wasn’t so bad bec it was virtual and I was multitasking. Oddly I’ve never waited with office visits. However she acknowledged the long wait and apologized. Otherwise she took a lot of time with me and did not rush. She thoroughly explained everything. I’d say 4 stars only bec I got several calls from her office about being on time.
