I met with the doctor by video conferencing. She addressed all my questions and was excellent as always. I would highly recommend the doctor for any patients needing a gastroenterologist.

I've seen Dr. Abramowitz a few times now, and she certainly seems knowledgable on all the issues I've discussed with her. I prepared with some more detailed questions as well that I studied from the literature, and she was able to answer them. In 2020, you can get all the basic information about your (potential) problem online, and you shouldn't need your doctor to explain it to you. Doctors are important for their clinical experience, medical intuition, and detailed understanding. Other reviews are correct her bedside manner, but this is not the reason I go to a doctor and shouldn't be the reason you do either.

Even though I have only been able to meet with Dr. Abramowitz virtually due to COVID-19 so far, every single time I meet with her, I am increasingly more impressed, not only by her medical knowledge and caring bedside manner, but mostly with her keen ability to preform a comprehensive, systemic evaluation of both myself as a patient and the symptoms that I present. She makes me feel as though I am not only receiving a thorough GI assessment and follow up, but that she is also making sure to factor in any possible extenuating factors, While deducing whether anything else could be e cause of my symptoms. As a chronically ill person, having seen hundreds (and possibly thousands) of physicians in my time, finding a physician that practices in such a manner truly is a breath of fresh air.

She was rude and uncaring. Kept me waiting 2 hours and only responded after a nurse called. She did not even come to the room to speak to me. It was a frustrating and difficult experience. Use any one else.

I always end up waiting for extended periods of time, the last time it took 1 hour before I saw the doc, before that 1,5 hrs. I never get the follow up calls I’m supposed to receive. I have gotten a wrong prescription before that could have been harmful but the doctor called me in time to tell me I shouldn’t take it. I’ve also have to wait for weeks/months for a back and forth between dr Abramowitz and another doctor of mine that was also within the Weill Cornell network. He told me his office had an exceptional hard time reaching hers. I don’t think she is bad at practicing medicine but these activities are in my opinion crucial to have a good overall experience. This is why I would not recommend this doctor to friends and family.

The facility she works in is the most state-of-art and tech-forward, but I agree with the other reviews that while Dr. Abramowitz might be medically knowledgeable, she does not convey that knowledge effectively to patients. Her demeanor is cold, distant, and even condescending. As a patient you feel like you have to apologize for taking her time. Her role may be best as a medical researcher on GI issues, not face-to-face with patients.

She did not listen, was not familiar with my diagnosis, and had terrible bedside manner. Dr. Abramowitz entered the room (an hour after my appointment) and did not say hello. She coldy asked my name, and I introduced myself by my first name. Her response was- “state your FULL name”. I asked her to explain my diagnosis and it was quickly clear she knew very little about it. And she was rude. She also had a dirty lab coat and chipped nail polish. Disappointing for Weil cornell which is top notch.

Her beside manner is very poor. She yawned through our entire meeting, was impatient and interrupted whenever I asked questions or expressed my concerns. I chalked it up to afternoon fatigue (we met around 2pm). Terrible listener. Still hoping that she was proficient I followed through with an appointment. Big mistake. She told me exactly what I already knew, what I had told her. For that info I had to have the nurse call her. I still don't know why I'm having a problem. She was useless.

She is cold and does not look directly at you when asking questions. My entire visit she typed on her computer. It takes forever to get test results from her and she is quite unprofessional. Find another doctor! She does not care about her patients.

When I told the doctor that I was throwing up a lot and coughing she made me go to a pulmonary doctor to make sure I was OK to have the procedures that she was going to do which is it colonoscopy and Endoscopy what she would do the procedure because she was worried about me is very compassionate and didn’t rush me and I got to spend a good amount of time with her.

This environment in this office is terrible - everyone from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor is so rude. She took offense when I told her I wanted to stay off Humara and walked out the room without saying bye. She spoke to me like i’m stupid bc I have Crohnes and was treating it holistically. Every time I called the office it took over a week to get back to me. So stressful. She walks around with a clipboard with 100+ pieces of crumbly paper that had me suspicious from the start.

I thought Dr. Abramowitz was excellent. I went to her for a colonoscopy. She was very thorough with telling about the procedure an suggested she also do an upper GI since I have GERD. She had a great sense of humor. I feel completely confident with her skills.

Terrible bedside manner. Unfriendly, ill informed. Spent less than three minutes “examining” me (basically being paid hundreds of dollars to listen to my heartbeat and press abdomen). No compassion-did not listen actively-more interested in putting information into computer than interacting on a human level

I have been going to Dr. Abramowitz for 2 years. She is knowledgeable in her field, and spends quality time with her patients. She has stopped my bleeding when needed and took care of my constant health care issues for a very long time, and has done it very well. Highly recommended.

The only thing good about this dr is that she accepts medicaid, & that maybe out of utter disorganization. She showed up 5 hours late my colonoscopy. She prescribed me medication that required her authorization—4 months later I'm still waiting. When I finally got through she lied the pharmacy not contacting her. She's treats questions you might have about your health with distain and answers on a need to know basis. She has no concern for your quality of life and prescribes treatment accordingly
