This content was provided by Dr. Shaaf "Mehdi Shaaf, M.D. Board Certified Ophthalmologist A summa cum laude graduated at the university of Central Oklahoma at Edmond, Dr. Shaaf was a chemistry major and received "Senior of the year " award from the chemistry department. He was named "outstanding undergraduate student in the college of Mathematics and science" in 1988-89, and received the Fleming scholarship research award from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in 1988. Dr. Shaaf received his " Medical degree with distinction " from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Centers at Oklahoma City, where he went on to complete his internship. In 1995, he began his ophthalmology residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Science and served as Chief Resident during his final year. As an ophthalmology resident, Dr. Shaaf received the "Raymond and Marry Morris award for outstanding research. " He then joined the faculty of the university of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as an assistant professor of ophthalmology where he trained future ophthalmologists as well as practicing clinical comprehensive ophthalmology. After almost five years, he joined Inland Eye Institute to become the full time ophthalmologist in Coachella Valley. In 2004 he founded SHAAF EYE CENTER. Dr. Shaaf provides comprehensive ophthalmic care. He performs Cataract, Laser surgery, Glaucoma and eye lid surgeries. Kevin J. Keeping paying patients waiting does not seem to be much of a concern in this office. The techs use good infection control measures. I have serious doubts when a provider shakes hands without first sanitizing his own. No sinks in the room. There are somewhat useful hand sanitizers, but even...more

It is nice to walk into a friendly environment & to be greeted with smiles. I did not feel rushed by the Dr. or his staff.
