With the current advancement in cancer therapy, some stage 4 cancer patients are being cured nowadays -- something that wasn't even conceivable a generation ago. Patients with stage 4 colorectal cancer patients are now finding excellent outcome with combined chemotherapy and surgery to remove liver metastasis. Even when stage 4 cancer can't be cured, new chemotherapy regimens can make incurable cancer CONTROLLED, like any other chronic disease (like diabetes or high blood pressure).

Dr. Matthew Y. Suh is a board-certified surgical specialist treating diseases of the liver, pancreas and bile duct (hepato-pancreato-biliary or HPB surgeon). He is one of the first surgeons to perform the Nano Knife procedure, a cutting-edge surgery for inoperable pancreatic cancer, in the state of New Jersey. He performs liver resections and pancreas surgery, including the Whipple procedure. Dr. Suh also treats patients with other abdominal cancer, including stomach, intestine, colon and rectal cancer. He routinely performs laparoscopic colon and rectal surgeries. He is also an expert general surgeon, performing complex re-operative surgeries on patients who have undergone multiple abdominal surgeries. Dr. Suh is a graduate of Harvard University and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He trained in General Surgery at Harvard Medical School (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) and in Transplant and HPB Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center (NYC). He is a member of the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
