Had been a patient of Dr. Sachs ever since he started practice here in Va. Beach. I was shocked at last visit. He told me he was tired of patients coming to him and looking for a magic pill and sick of patients not meeting him halfway. Was on his cell phone the entire visit, not sure if he was playing a game or what. Previous visit he hid phone under desk and didn’t even give me eye contact. I came close to getting up and walking out in the middle of visit but held my ground. Made me cry and actually gave a grin and shook his head. Hope he gets the help HE needs to get himself straightened out, At least I still have empathy left after the way he treated me. BEWARE!

I agree with all other negative reviews. Dr. Sachs is arrogant, prideful and judgemental. To say the least. I could go on forever. Basically he was absolutely the worst doctor I've had my entire 44 years of life.

Arrogant. Incompetent. Discharged our family member when she was still in psychosis after all other hospital medical professionals caring for her recommended otherwise. Negligent. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Sachs was the third psychiatrist that I have seen for depression. He is more inclined to recommend therapy with meds for treatment. He is not pushy and he cares about his patients. I never feel rushed when I am there. I would highly recommend Dr. Sachs to my friends and family.

Made me feel worse than I did when I came in! He asked me what do you want from me! Well I’m here because I need help! He treated me like I was some low life off the street. He also would not help me at all basically told me tough luck! He referred me out to a therapist for help. He treated me so horrible! Please read the reviews before you see this Dr. he wouldn’t even make eye contact with you. Never even listened to anything I said like he didn’t care! I left out of his office feeling worse!

Reading the experiences of others is very opposite of my interactions with Dr. Sachs, for nearly 3 years now. I see him for med maintenance after years of therapy and trying out various meds. The meds I am on are a great combination compared to the past. I’m not overly tired, I’m functional, days are no longer spent panicking, and I handle stress better. I’m wired to have high anxiety, dealt with it all my life. Yrs of therapy never stopped my panic attacks; I’m more balanced than ever, now!

I am an RN and I have been seen by a psychiatrist in the past for anxiety and just needed a routine re-evaluation. Dr Sachs was very unengaged from the beginning of my visit. Never made eye contact while asking questions. He made me feel like I was wasting his time. ~5 mins in he asked what I expected him to do for me. After suggesting making adjustments to my medications he told me I needed therapy to "push through" my anxious feelings and probable depression. Would not recommend.
