Dr. Matthew Ragsdell completed his Bachelor's of Science degree from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Ragsdell went on to study medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his internship and Residency at Michigan State University in Pontiac, Michigan. After completing his orthopaedic residency, Dr. Ragsdell completed a sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where he received training in advanced arthroscopic techniques and advanced shoulder reconstruction. During his fellowship, Dr. Ragsdell worked alongside the team doctor for the Detroit Lions. Dr. Ragsdell is board certified in Orthopaedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a member of many professional organizations. Dr. Ragsdell has written numerous publications and has completed extensive research in the field of orthopaedic surgery and reconstruction. Dr. Ragsdell treats a wide range of general orthopaedic conditions to include spinal evaluations, anterior hip replacements, hand and elbow surgery. However, his unique specialty focuses on sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. Dr. Ragsdell has expertise in total joint replacements and total joint revisions including hips, knees and shoulders. Dr. Ragsdell also performs ACL, MCL & PCL reconstruction and revision surgery.
