Dr. McKenzie was recommended to me by a family member after seeing how well he did after hip replacement surgery. Not only did I have a successful hip replacement as a result; Dr. McKenzie also corrected a back problem for me , and did a total knee replacement. He is a very caring surgeon, explains the procedure involved, and answers questions his patients have. Yes, I would and have recommended him to others considering joint replacement or back surgery.

After years of back pain from an athletic background, my chiropractor recommended surgery. My local physician recommended Dr McKenzie. Dr Matt listened carefully to my complaints. He scheduled X-rays and MRI, had me do physical therapy. But the pain didn't abate. So while hiking in the Rockies, I had had enough of stopping and stretching every 10-15 minutes. So I called and set up the appointment and had surgery September 15th. I have been walking 3-6 miles daily since the first month!

I highly recommend Dr. McKenzie and his staff at OI. I was recently seen by Dr. McKenzie for an evaluation of an injured foot that was ultimately determined to be not fractured, as feared, but sprained/strained. My X-rays and subsequent consultation with Dr. McKenzie were performed in an expeditious manner. Dr. McKenzie and his staff were friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful. Dr. McKenzie's bedside manner was kind and reassuring, and his treatment plan was helpful and successful.

I've seen Dr. McKenzie recently for a herniated disc. I'm going to boil it down to what matters. 1) He did a great job fixing my knee. 2) I am very confident in his abilities. 3) He's willing to listen. 4) I believe he is conservative as to surgery. 5) if I need orthopedic surgery on anything he fixes, he's who I will go see. Hands down.
