Dr. McClure began his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed residency in Anesthesiology at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. He then completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. He is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Since completion of training Dr. McClure has served as faculty at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio training medical students, residents and fellows in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. During training he was awarded for providing outstanding education to medical students. He remains on staff at the University part time. Dr. McClure was drawn to medicine with hopes to alleviate pain and suffering, and improve the quality of life of his patients. After developing a deep understanding of physiology a career in Pain Medicine was a natural progression. He had the unique experience of training under distinguished leaders in the field of Pain Medicine. He utilizes a comprehensive, evidenced based approach to pain management. While serving patients with many pain issues he is particularly interested in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, cancer pain, facial pain and other difficult to treat painful conditions. Outside of work Dr. McClure enjoys free time with his wife and two children. He loves spending time with his family, playing outdoors and listening to music. He's a musician at heart having a passion for percussion and drums.
