Dr Hummel is a wonderful doctor, who explains things well, takes time to answer questions and is an excellent surgeon. I had a complicated hip repair and am 100% satisfied with the the result. As an aside, the hospital experience at St Elizabeth's main hospital was outstanding... the nursing staff were caring and present. Very different experience from other hospitals .

Hip replacement....one leg longer than the other. Lot of pain in hip 4 months later. Cannot get appt. with Dr., only nurse practitioners, who are not up to par. Avoid this office and MD at all costs.

I have had both hips replaced by Dr.Hummel,Dr. and staff were very professional.Dr Hummel saw me the first visit after surgery and was very concerned about my aches and pains,he answered all my questions about the operation and what I had to do to get my strength back.It has been a little over 4 weeks and I feel that I am walking with very little pain and getting better with each day.Would recommend Dr.Hummel for Hip Surgery.Tks

I had a total hip replacement with this doctor in 2015. I wish I had read these reviews first. After surgery you never see him. If there is a problem you are treated like a troublemaker. Rather than see the doctor, you are ushered around from lackey to lackey. The negative reviews are spot on. Two years later my hip still hurts and I suffer rather than deal with Hummel and his staff.

Had a total hip replacement in 2014 with Dr. Hummel and was totally successful. Within 8 weeks I was back to walking 5 miles a day and have had no problems at all. Reading other reviews, I rarely saw him on follow up appointments but saw the PA....which is fine. She is just as capable of handling an office visit. Only negative is that unless you take a very early appointment, you are stuck waiting a long time to see anyone...has been 30-45 minutes each time I've been in there..

Dr. Hummel did a total hip replacement on me. He was fine until I experienced problems shortly after my surgery and then he was a total jerk. Did not listen to my concerns. Treated me very rudely when I began to have issues. Ended up going to another ortho and had a total hip revision. Would NEVER recommend him to anyone for anything.

I've been his patient for about 3 months and I've spent a total of about 100 seconds with him. He's had me injected, MRI'd, and I've still only seen him for a total of 100 seconds. Out of 5 visits, I've actually seen Dr. Hummel only once. His PA was very nice and informative. Dr. Hummel not so much. All the staff seemed concerned about was bragging about how many appointments he had to see that day -- one day it was something like 75! That's ridiculous!
