I was referred to Dr Clayton and SportsMed after my total hip replacement surgery with another orthopedic group was cancelled. I was given an appointment within 3 days and could not be more pleased with the results. Dr Clayton and his staff went above and beyond to make sure I received the proper care and within 2 weeks, I had a new hip. The procedure and recovery have been without issues. Using HealthLoop as a communication tool has kept me advised on expectations and provides an avenue for questions should they arise. I would recommend Dr Matthew Clayton and SportsMed to anyone wanting the best orthopedic care possible.

Dr. Clayton is amazing! I had a hip that was in really bad shape. My legs were no longer even. I was really nervous about having surgery. He was patient, and explained exactly what could be the outcome, good or bad. He assured me that he would do the very best possible for me. That really put my mind at ease. Originally, we were looking at staying off the hip for 6 weeks, with no pressure on the hip/leg. When I woke up from surgery, I had no idea a miracle was performed. Dr. Clayton, was able to perfectly fix my hip, perfectly even out my legs to be the exact same length again. I was also able to put pressure on that leg the same day, which we originally weren't expecting. I have been pained free since the day of surgery. It's been over ten years, since I have felt like this. What a way to end the year! What a way to start a New Year! Dr. Clayton is AWESOME!!! If you need surgery on your hip, you need to take a ticket and stand in line for Dr. Clayton! He's your MAN!!!

My original inpatient hip replacement surgery was canceled by the hospital due to COVID-19 issues. I was then referred to Dr. Clayton since he was able to perform the hip replacement as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Clayton excepted my case and performed the procedure with excellent results. My entire experience with Dr. Clayton was wonderful from the initial meeting through physical therapy and follow up. Dr. Clayton was very meticulous and particular about his pre-surgery and post-surgery protocols. I highly recommend him!

I was looking for a new orthopedic surgeon that specializes in knee replacement and found Dr Clayton. He is very attentive during visits. He requires very few visits, which is a nice change. He was on time for surgery and clearly explained what to expect. His office has an app that allows communication between his staff and the patient, which has proved to be very beneficial. I am only 2 weeks post surgery but things have gone very well and on schedule per his plan.

Surprisingly good experience for a major trip under the knife. Excellent prep and explanation beforehand. Good discussions both before and after surgery gave me a lot of confidence that this would work out ok. At two months later I feel I have finished recuperating - maybe not but I can tie my shoes for the first time in 7 years.

Dr. Clayton and his team are OUTSTANDING. I sought Dr. Clayton's opinion after recieving unsatisfactory results from another physician. The pain in my right leg had become so severe that I required a walker to get around. Dr. Clayton correctly diagnosed my problem as being located in my hip, not my knee. He performed hip replacement surgery May 27 2020. Two weeks after my surgery the pain was gone. For the first time in over a year I can walk without a stabbing pain in my right leg. Thanks again Dr. Clayton!

In June, Dr. Matthew Clayton handled my hip replacement. I am five weeks out from surgery. The entire experience has been so positive and successful. From the professionalism and knowledge of Dr. Clayton and his entire staff at Sportsmed to the hospital experience at Crestwood in Huntsville. Initially I was very apprehensive and nervous about the surgery. Dr. Clayton assured me I would come through fine, and he was right. I would Most definitely recommend Dr. Clayton!
