will do surgery on overweight people
I have to respond to the reviewer who said Dr. Bernard would never do surgery on an overweight person. My wife and I are both morbidly obese and he never hesitated to offer surgery. We both had double knee replacements and Dr. Bernard changed our lives. And, I cannot imagine Dr Bernard ever having a bad enough day that he would be cruel. Our experiences and that of our friend who had a hip replacement show the most compassionate and caring Doctor I have ever met.

Dr. Bernard presents as a friendly, out-going, confident surgeon. However, for some reason during the pandemic his surgical skills apparently declined significantly. A year and a half after he did knee replacement surgery on me, I had to have revision surgery done because the implant was not stable. X-rays indicated it was placed incorrectly and would result in a continually unstable and painful knee. So, here I am back in extreme pain (I can’t tolerate painkillers) and starting over from scratch. I should not have had to do this a second time!! I am angry and resentful that his negligence has significantly impacted the quality of my life. I am also aware of 3 other patients of Dr. Bernard whose surgeries were not done properly during the same time period. Please make your choice of surgeon very carefully!!

Awesome doctor! He did my left knee and very compassionate and cares about you! PT didn’t like I wasn’t progressing enough but Dr Bernard told me I was doing good and just keep up with the therapy! I had to worker harder than the norm because of my RA. It payed off and more than likely will have him do my right knee.
