Dr Pombo & the Emory John's Creek staff were easy to make an appt with, easy to talk with- they listened and answered all my questions/ concerns - both before and after surgery! Thank you for your care & patience, small clean precise incisions, thorough & least invasive procedure with quickest recovery of options I had for an acl/mcl replace & repair! I have already recommended Dr Pombo & his team at Emory JC to others needing knee/shoulder repair/replacements possibly! Thank you Dr Pombo/team!
Atlanta, GA |
Wonderful experience. Dr. pombo took the time to treat me as a person and not just my diagnosis. I'm an elite triathlete and he performed my knee cartilage surgery and has me ready to for Kona. His Emory team of athletic trainers and physical therapist makes this the place all athletes should go. I'm thrilled with my outcome.
Woodstock, GA |
Dr. Pombo and his staff are fantastic. He took a conservative approach to my shoulder problems cortisone shots, PT etc. which eventually ended up in surgery. When I have called for the slightest question Kristin has promptly called back the same day. The only thing I do not like is the Emory system -- it is difficult to get directly to the Dr's office without going through the Emory phone system. Some of the Emory people (not Pombo's people) who answer the phone are rude and read from a script.

Excellent care from a very dedicated and caring physician.

I highly recommend Dr. Pombo. He quickly and accurately diagnosed my torn meniscus. He repaired my knee about 8 weeks ago and I am back playing golf again.
Norcross, GA |
Dr. Pombo operated on my left rotator cuff which I had damage for the second time. The doctor who operated on it the first time refuse to operate again. Dr. Pombo looked at it and gave me three options. I choose to have Dr. Pombo to repair the shoulder. The result was excellent. I have the majority of the functions of my shoulder back and with out any pain since I left the recovery room. I have taken no pain medicine during the whole recovery period.

Very professional, personable, and friendly. Always takes the time to provide explanantions and future outlook.
in Suwanee, GA |
I had a torn meniscus in my left knee with a lot of swelling and pain. Dr. Pombo recommended surgery. I told him that my daughter was getting married in six months and my only requirement was that I be able to dance at her wedding. I was able to schedule surgery in one week and I was able to walk out of the surgery center. My daughter's wedding is in two weeks and my knee is pain free. Can't wait to dance.
in Alpharetta, GA |
I went to Dr. Pombo for a hamstring injury. I was able to get in right away and he insisted that I get an MRI asap. I was able to schedule surgery within a week of my original injury. He reattached two tendons to my butt bone and I am on the road to recovery. His positive attitude and confidence has me looking forward to a complete recovery.

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. I went to see Dr. Pombo to determine why I had pain in my knee and the joint was emitting a crackling sound. Dr. Pombo had ex-rays done and determined it to be arthritis in the joint. His recommendation was to have the knee joint replaced in the future as symptoms worsened. Nothing more. A second opinion resulted in arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus. I have used Emory over 20 years with great success. Dr. Pombo is not worthy of Emory.
