This content was provided by Dr. Aliniazee "Mateen K AliNiazee, MD is a Board Certified Eye Physician and Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in Ophthalmology. He graduated with honors from Tulane University Department of Science and Engineering in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and completed a 7 year combined BS/MD program with Tulane University Medical School in 1996. He went on to excel during his internship and residency at Tulane University Department of Ophthalmology in 2000. Throughout his career, Dr. AliNiazee has been keenly focused on the latest advancements in technology to deliver the highest quality surgical eye care. He has worked with some of the most progressive Ophthalmology practices in Illinois during his tenure as an eye surgeon. He is highly skilled and experienced in the areas of cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma management and treatment, along with management of diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases. He is certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology along with the American Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has performed thousands of cataract and refractive surgery procedures and lasers during his illustrious career. He will be on staff at Edward-Elmhurst Hospital System, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Systems, and Rush Oak Park Hospital. He also has surgical privileges at many surrounding ambulatory surgery centers throughout the Chicago area. Dr. AliNiazee is a strong supporter of the co-management mode for delivery of eye care and surgical co-management with optometrists. He has been an invited guest lecturer for numerous optometric and ophthalmic meetings and has spoken on the areas of refractive cataract surgery with advanced technology intraocular lenses. He is published in his work on Bacterial Drug Resistance and Antimicrobial Drugs and has presented on the topics of glaucoma management, intraocular lenses choices, and management of ocular surface disease. Dr. AliNiazee is highly skilled in a wide variety of ophthalmic surgeries and procedures including refractive cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular lenses, laser vision correction including LASIK PRK, refractive lens exchange, glaucoma management and surgery, diabetic retinopathy management and treatments, macular degeneration management and procedures. His warm nature and soothing personality compliment his great bedside manner. When he is not busy working, he can be found spending time with his wife and 3 children or honing his skills on the golf course."
