Specializing in treating patients with cataracts, glaucoma and corneal diseases, Dr. Malik has performed over 18,000 eye surgical procedures including small incision cataract surgery with lens implant, laser capsulotomy, glaucoma laser, corneal transplants, and laser vision correction procedures, including LASIK. By being among the first to use femtosecond laser in Rockford, he has the most experience with performing laser-assisted cataract surgery in the region. A Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Malik is on staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital, OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and Rockford Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Malik received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and achieved his fellowship in Cornea from Tufts University in Boston. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association, Illinois State Medical Society, Winnebago County Medical Society and Illinois Association of Ophthalmology.
