When she called to tell me that I needed a repeat mammogram because the radiologist had seen something, she told me to think of it like that scene in Gone with the Wind where they had to cover the horse's head with a blanket to get it to walk through the fire. I guess I'm a horse. Total lack of professionalism -- one of many reasons I'm leaving the practice and going elsewhere.

My experience with her was terrible. She spoke down to me and was extremely condescending when answering the one question that I had for her. I go to the other doctor in the office normally but was subjected to her when he went on vacation. Do not go to her if you don't have to.

I have just started going to this office after being with a Penn doctor for several years. I saw the doctor for the first time due to my employer change and needed to go to a new network. She was very nice, I brought in all my medications that I take everyday so when I need a refill she will have my info and refill them. Well, it turned out to be a night mare I had to call the office several times for my refill only to have it called in wrong not once but three times. I was without my medicine for a two weeks until it was done correctly. Now I needed a new refill on another medication after I called and my employer pharmacy called just to find out it was never refilled So I had to call again and was told the doctor had been out of the office for three weeks. Not one person in the office conveyed this to me or even her partner who covered call my medicine in. I find this so unprofessional as a person who works in the medical field this is totally inexcusable.

If you need a regular physical and don’t have any issues she may be okay for you. If you want your insurance to be correct, willingness to fix the error nicely, or a supportive doctor this is not the practice. I’ve been made to feel like a drug addict because I’ve taken a medication under my previous doctors care. As someone else stated, she is curt and condescending if you don’t agree with her.

The doctor and office staff are not very helpful when dealing with a simple refill request concerning an expired prescription. After the pharmacy called the office 4 times and I called twice, then the office informs me the doctor won’t write a new Rx and I must make an appt. After being without the medication for almost two weeks, I’ll choose another doctor if this is the treatment. Patient care is also about accommodating patients that can’t take time off for a simple Rx.

I'm a researcher by trade and found Dr. Mary Tobkin after an extensive search when I moved back to the area after many years away. Dr. Tobkin is the best family practice physician I've ever had. She smiles readily, listens carefully, and explains well what she finds and recommends. Her staff is equally pleasant and competent. Dr. Tobkin is affiliated with Abington Health, one of the leading systems in the country and one of the best organized and efficient.

My experience is that she doesn't listen to what her patients are telling her. She is not capable of learning new ways to manage patient issues. This is surprising because in the world of "managed care", doctor's very definitely need proactive patients and their input. She is very old fashioned and rigid when it comes to managing her patients and practice. I am one and done with her.
