      Dr. Scharold says

My lower graded responses are probably from one or two dissatisfied patients who reported me to a local committee by which I was cleared & who reported me to my state boards where my only reprimand was due to my medical records on one patient (who I had purposely disguised so as not to hurt them).

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Scharold's Care Philosophy

Since I participated in a residency in psychiatry that was highly psychodynamically oriented & since I completed training in an American Psychoanalytic Association approved psychoanalytic institute, I naturally gravitate to doing dynamically oriented individual psychotherapy. I am certified by both the American Board of Psychiatry in adult psychiatry and by the American Psychoanalytical Association in adult psychoanalysis. I have also continued to work with couples.
