Dr. Vann II's Care Philosophy

Our goal is to return patients to their pre-injury or pre-disease state using the lastest proven techniques, tailored to the individual.

We offer both surgical and non-surgical methods to get patients back on track.

Dr. Vann II says...

Dr. Vann has extensive experience in Ankle replacement technology.  Although ankle fusions have long been considered the gold standard, this procedure is not necessarily the best for everyone. Allowing the options of motion preservation, greatly enhances patient satisfaction.

The correction of painful flatfoot deformities has been a long held interest of Dr. Vann. By reconstruction the arch of the foot, individuals are able to return to a more active lifestyle.

Cartilage repair and transplantation are additional areas of interest.

Dr. Vann II says...

Ankle Replacement: Dr. Vann is certified to implant the Wright Medical, STAR, and Zimmer artificial ankle devices.

Ankle Arthroscopy: Dr. Vann performs many ankle surgeries arthroscopically, using a small camera and tools to repair cartilage, remove arthritic spurs, and excise inflamed tissue.

Minimally invasive Achilles Tendon Repair: Using a small (2-3cm) incision, Dr. Vann has been able to repair acute Achilles tendon ruptures with less scarring, fewer wound healing problems, and similar outcomes to the long, extensile incisions traditionally used in Achilles tendon rupture repair.

Cartilage Transplant: Small to very large cartilage defects may be treated utilizing small amounts of allograft (donated by other humans) tissue and growth factors or entire segments of bone and attached cartilage.  Some of these procedures are amenable to arthroscopic repair.
