Raleigh, NC |
Excellent surgeon and staff. Dr Mikles performed back surgery on me during an emergency situation and I am very pleased I lucked out with the surgeon who happened to be on call.

Dr. Mikles and his PA-C, Mr. Becton, are both poor listeners and only seem to care about the patients during the time just before and just after surgery. They repeatedly recommended the same things to help with post-surgery pain & flare-ups that I had repeatedly told them either didn't help or caused more pain. He couldn't even get my post-surgical pain under control. He had to call in a pain specialist! This was my 15th surgery & that had never happened. I suffered far more than necessary!
Starkville, MS |
Dr Mikles treated me for a back injury at work years ago. My wife recently needed back surgery and we went back to Dr Mikles. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mikles is an incredible surgeon. I had a huge herniated disk in my lower back for months and was in extreme pain to the point where I could barely walk. Dr. Mikles performed my microdiscectomy and it was a huge success. He is incredibly professional and caring and always took time to answer all my questions. He is a genuinely pleasant person to speak with. I highly recommend him as a surgeon.
Raleigh, NC |
Not very helpful and is not genuinely concerned about his patients. Don't waste your time.
in Wake Forest, NC |
I am certainly surprised by many of the previous reviews and my only thought is most people write reviews when they are angry, or don't get the answers they want. Dr. Mikles was not quick to operate, he took his time with me, and he solved my problem. He did tell me up front that all of my pain will not be gone with surgery, and that was good enough for me. He was right, all of my pain is not gone after surgery, but most of it is, and I am back to living my life. I rate him excellent.

Dr Mikles changed my life, I was able to go back to work, play golf, things I had been unable to do for the past year. His assistant, Kim, was especially nice and helpful. I would highly recommend him if you need back surgery.
in Raleigh, NC |
Dr Mikles was very patient with me and conservative in his treatment. I eventually ended up having surgery after we tried steroid injections and therapy. I appreciated the fact that he didn't rush into operating on me. My surgery was a success, and my debilitating back pain is gone. I do have to be careful not to herniate a disc again, and now I know my limitations thanks to Dr. Mikles advice. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
in Morrisville, NC |
Long wait times once you're checked in, always confused about care, unhelpful. Quick to pass you off to other specialists if your case is too complex for him to handle. Extremely disappointed in this doctor.
