I have been seeing Dr. Merrell for a few years, working up to knee replacement surgery. Dr. Merrell he has never had a rushed attitude with me, If you are a patient that needs to coddled you may be disappointed, but if you are good with straight forward, very to the point doctor, you will be extremely pleased and comfortable with Dr. Merrell.

I had both knees replaced by Dr. Merrell and a second follow up for scar tissue build up. He has been very supportive of the situation. He listens to what I have to say and then makes suggestions for corrective action. I would very highly recommend him to anyone with knee problems. I feel he is the best in the northwest.

Dr. Merrell is sooo caring! He is thorough. He listens to my concerns and questions then provides easily understood answers. I put a very high value on his decades of real life experience, not just book learning. I am thankful he is a member of my care team. Had it not been his attention to detail and desire to have some X-rays taken, I wouldn’t have known (until it was too late), that the hardware in my right tibia had loosened from a TKR. He immediately connected me with two highly rated knee specialists to do the needed TKR revision surgery to fix the problem.

My appointment time was kept with very little waiting by me. Dr. Merrell met with me and after a brief consultation about various options, we choose an immediate treatment which he administered and I was back out the door with a highly diminished pain level.

He told me right away what my options were. I liked that. I completely trust him as he did my husbands knees and they are good now.

Dr Merrill and staff are AMAZING! Due to a fracture in my femur, I had to have a complete revision a month after my first knee replacement. The fracture was due to undiagnosed Osteoporosis. I had no idea I had this. Dr Merrill and his nurses were so amazing. They went above and beyond for me, by calling and checking on me frequently, keeping me informed and helping me through the entire ordeal. My surgery was a complete success. The medical and emotional support, through this was incredible.

Dr Merrell replaced both of my knees simultaneously and I was golfing again within 7 weeks. Unfortunately, I fell into a sunken living room and totally tore the quadriceps off both knees. The muscles were severely damaged and Dr. Merrell also performed the repair surgery that same evening, Today, at age 71, I'm totally unaware of any sense of damage and can easily walk 18 holes of golf with no pain.
