Dr. Meier's bio
This content was provided by Dr. Meier "You might say that orthopedics is in my blood, my Dad was the first orthopedic surgeon in Southwest Georgia. I feel so fortunate to have been able to learn from him. I scrubbed in on one of the first total hips done in my home town approximately 45 years ago. Things have certainly changed since then. Hip replacement then usually involved a large incision and a 10 day hospital stay; whereas today, with minimally invasive techniques, people usually go home the day after surgery. Similar advancements have been made in knee replacement as well. My family and I moved to Boise in 1992 after I finished my trauma fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. I began my practice in Boise doing complex orthopedic trauma of the hip and knee. I've always had an interest in joint replacement and over the last 10 years have dedicated myself primarily to hip and knee replacement."

My wife is one of my nurses and together, with our team, we try very hard to treat our patients like family. We care for the whole person and hope that our office is a place of healing and friendship. Taking the time to form relationships with our patients and their families is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a physician."
