Mark Mansfield, M.D. Dr. Mansfield likes to fix things. In fact, as a child he decided being a doctor is what he wanted to do because in his eyes that's what doctors did, they fixed things. That passion continues today. Dr. Mansfield enjoys helping his patients figure out what is wrong and then fix it. "I love my job," he says. "It's actually kind of strange to call it a job because I love what I do." Dr. Mansfield is married and has three children and he loves raising his family in Idaho. Originally from a small town in Nevada, Dr. Mansfield did his residency at Idaho State University and decided to stay. He enjoys the outdoors and is also involved in local youth sports as a coach for wrestling and soccer. He admits his competitive spirit carries over into his practice. When a patient comes to him with a condition or problem that they've struggled with for years, Dr. Mansfield doesn't quit until he can help solve it. Dr. Mansfield has been on the medical staff at Portneuf Medical Center since 1997 and is a faculty member at Idaho State University's Family Practice Residency Program. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Zoology from Arizona State University and a Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Nevada Reno. Dr. Mansfield loves being active and has been recognized as both a competitor and coach in soccer, wrestling, archery and boxing.
