I saw Dr. Fesenmyer in September of 2020. I was referred to him by a colorectal surgeon. He diagnosed me with Crohn’s and without doing any baseline blood work, he started me on an immunosuppressant. I had picked up a bacterial infection in my intestine during the colonoscopy that diagnosed Crohn's disease. Because he started me on biologic without seeing if I had an underlying infection, I got very sick. As I reported complications to him, he started me on a second immunosuppressant, and didn’t order blood work until after I started taking it. When I reported complications from the medications, his office informed me they were not related to the medication he prescribed. -- Looking up the medication, many of the problems I had were common side effects of that medication. Had he done blood work, I could have skipped being violently ill for several weeks. I now have more health problems from the infection, including damage done to my intestines, and an enlarged prostate.

Eleven years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, Dr. Fesenmyer (DuPage Medical Group) did the upper endoscopy for a biopsy to confirm. As others have said, rather impersonable. When meeting and getting the confirmation of the disease, I expressed how much I would miss a cold beer and good old cheeseburger. His comment - well you can have them occassionaly. WRONG. I vowed then that I would never see him again.

He's has a horrible bedside manner. He rushed through my visit. He didn't have any of my test results I had to pull them up on my phone and show them to him. I will never schedule an appointment with him again.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Fesenmyer! He has bad bedside manners and rolls his eyes as he's talking to you. He's rude and gave me a wrong diagnoses! Thank God I chose to get a second opinion and get properly treated or I would of still been in the hospital. He said I had a nervous stomach and my throwing up was stress related. He was very upset that I wouldn't take the synthetic marijuana because he thought it was the cure. I refused and got proper diagnoses/treatment and I am so happy I did!
