Dr. Cuffe's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Cuffe "Following in his father's footsteps, Dr. Mark J. Cuffe has made a living by improving people's quality of life as a board-certified neurological surgeon. A neurosurgeon is trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the spinal cord, brain and nervous system. "My father, Dr. James Cuffe, a physician, is my mentor. I have always wanted to be a doctor since I was four years old because of him," Dr. Cuffe says. Dr. Cuffe carried out his life-long dream and earned his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Florida with high honors and completed a general surgery internship and his neurological surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to accepting his position at Neurosurgical Associates, Dr. Cuffe practiced in Tallahassee for 18 years, routinely performing spine and peripheral nerve surgery. He also has performed brain surgery for tumors, placed shunts for hydrocephalus and treated for blood clots, strokes and trauma. Dr. Cuffe is involved in many professional affiliations such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Florida Neurosurgical Society, Southern Neurosurgical Society, Florida Medical Association and University of Florida's Junior Honors Medical Program."
