This content was provided by Dr. Cohen I see patients with problems of their hands and arms. So they see me because something doesn't work. Something doesn't bend. Something hurts when they use it. Something doesn't feel right. They've lost feeling or sensation, or they've had an injury. There's always various options for treating a particular problem, and many doctors have different treatment algorithms for different problems. I'm very conservative, and I really think that unless you, for example, have a fracture and break a bone and need surgery to repair the bone, most elective things, I think, are treated conservatively first. And many of them get better, and I think that patients actually seem to appreciate the conservative approach.

I could tell that Dr. Cohen cares earnestly about helping his patients. The care I received from everyone on his team (and in the building) was superb.

I thank God for Dr Cohen he is beyond the best and he is so compassionate and tries to help his patients in every form of fashion. He has helped me in the best way possible and I am forever grateful for all he has done with helping me recover. Its a long road but I'm glad that he's on my side along the way.
in Hampshire, IL |
I went to him as a second opinion. He immediately noticed on the x-ray wghat was wrong.I had another broken bone but healed correctly. He then proceeded to tell me what he would do to fix it. He redid surgery and I am very happy with the results

I am MMA fighter that was injured during a fight, so it was important for me to find the best Physician so I can return to fighting. My injury was nearly catastrophic and given the nature of my sport, not a typical injury. Literally all my muscles and tendons were completely tore off my elbow. With my goal of fighting again one day, I carefully and painstakingly (literally) took a week to research and find the right physician. Dr. Mark Cohen was the best in his field; he stood out the most so

San Jose, CA |
I owe Dr. Cohen and his team more than a huge "thank you" for the work they did to repair my broken hand (bad break, two surgeries, four pins). They were extremely knowledgeable, gave clear and strict instructions each step of the way. I followed their lead, I have no scaring and I am in the PT phase of the journey...and will have a 100% full functioning hand because of their direction and thorough check-ups/x-rays/etc along the way. I will recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone!
Terre Haute, IN |
I fell & shattered my elbow. Dr. Cohen performed a complicated surgery, meticulously reconstructing my elbow. He had a comprehensive plan for each stage of my recovery from casting to splinting to occupational therapy. Each stage of the plan was fully explained to me by his PA, Reena Patel, & reiterated by him, so I understood what I needed to do to ensure the best possible outcome. Dr. Cohen is a brilliant physician who is calm, compassionate & remarkably humble. Rush Ortho is outstanding.
Dr. Cohen and Jocelyn are amazing. They were able to diagnose an elbow injury in one visit and surgery was promptly scheduled. Dr Cohen went out of his way to contact me after my surgery to see how I was doing. I always felt like his only patient when I was being treated by him. And his PA, Jocelyn, is fantastic. She definitely cares for and remembers each patient; returns phone calls promptly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cohen for any ortho needs. You'll be in great, trustworthy hands. : )

Dr. Cohen is a supremely talented, timely, detail-oriented doctor. I appreciated his quick, direct feedback and attitude. I can't imagine having had a better team. I was in a bike accident that severely dislocated my thumb, and due to travel didn't make it to a doctor until a month later. Dr. Cohen assessed the damage in a direct and confident manner, setting a clear plan of action from surgery to follow-ups. I am now back to full use of my thumb-- borderline miraculous. Thanks, Dr!

I broke my right hand 15 months ago. I called Dr. Cohen's office on a Monday and on Wednesday afternoon I was in the OR with him only after he explained, re-explained and then confirmed I understood what was happening. He was thorough, efficient and has a fantastic team of people who support the work he does from making the appts, assisting Dr. Cohen, applying the casts, splints, connecting me to the right hand therapists, following up on my care etc. His level of confidence in his work was A+!
in St. Anne, Illinois |
Dr. Cohen is a fabulous surgeon with a good bedside manner. He doesn't waste time talking more than is necessary, but does tell you everything you need to know and will answer any questions you have and treats you with respect. His associates & staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. My shattered elbow required two surgeries with Dr. Cohen and over a year of visits and treatment. We were so satisfied with Dr. Cohen, we chose him for my husbands ulnar relocation surgery this past week.
Wheatfield, IN |
Carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel surgeries...in regards to the appts, I was always seen on time or earlier. He didn't spend a ton of time with me in the office during visits, but he doesn't need to. Dr Cohen performed the surgery and I am greatful, I now have no pain and the numbness is gone. Recovery was near painless. Thank you Sir.
in West Dundee,IL |
Dr. Cohen and his physician assistant are very knowledgeable. They both took time to explain my x-rays, and condition. They recommend what's right for the patient. I have seen him years ago and it's worth the hour plus commute.
Chicago, IL |
Dr. Cohen did not push for me to have surgery, even though I had made up my mind I wanted surgery. He was very upfront and honest with me about the outcome of my open elbow surgery for tennis elbow and a torn lateral collateral ligament. Dr. Cohen is very concerned about his patients and pushes for excellent PT follow-up care. His staff is always available to answer any questions. The surgery was a success, and I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen. He is the best!
in McHenry, Il |
I called Dr. Cohen's office to get an appointment and was told by his secretary that "he said there was nothing he could do for you". This was in regard to a hand injury he devotes a portion of a textbook about. I'm certain that he couldn't help me because I am currently unemployed and on Medicaid due to a mistake made by another surgeon, causing disability. I spent my career as a nurse giving compassionate free care to those in need so that I can be denied of a quality of life by Dr. Cohen.
in Steger, Illinois |
Dr. Cohen and his staff are absolutely amazing. They are compassionate, thorough, and most importantly, highly skilled. When I first went to see Dr. Cohen, I was thoroughly examined, given all of my options and projected prognosis's, and then had the opportunity to ask my questions and voice my concerns. They listened to me and answered every question I had and gained my confidence. Every step of the process was made easier because of the care I received from Dr. Cohen and his staff. Thank you!
in Oak Lawn, IL |
I went to Dr. Cohen after I fractured my wrist. Dr. Cohen is highly knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. He listens and cares about his patients. Dr. Cohen is supported by an AMAZING team at both M&M Orthopaedics and Rush Hospital. This level of professionalism in all settings provides "SEAMLESS CARE". My recovery is going extremely well. Hope Dr. Cohen realizes that his exceptional skills and encouragement have made such a difference in so many lives.

I saw Dr Cohen for a distal radius fracture after I fell on the ice. While he stressed that my fracture was pretty significant, he was so calm and confident that I had no concerns about the surgery. My entire experience with him has been terrific and I would highly recommend him to anyone experiencing challenges with their hands or arms.

I don't want to make a review too long but I have a lot to say about this AWESOME Doctor. I came to Dr. Cohen distraught. I had had 3 prior surgeries with a doctor that couldn't fix my issue. He was very upfront and honest with me from the very beginning. He explained that my issue was something that he would work his hardest to try and correct. He performed surgery on my arm and walked me through the healing process. He fixed me!!! He was always available and he even got on me when I was
