His Naval career started with a General Surgery Internship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia and lasted for four more years; most of that time serving as a Naval Flight Surgeon. The Navy stationed him with the Marine Corp Base, Kaneohe, Hawaii for two years with the heavy Marine helicopter squadron HMH-463. After an Honorable Discharge as a Lt Commander, he entered residency with the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His ENT – Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training occurred in Joplin, Missouri, at Freemen Health System, McIntire Ear Nose and Throat Center, as well as the Advanced Facial Aesthetic and Laser Center. Residency in Otolaryngology / Facial Plastic Surgery was completed in June 2006. Dr. Mark Bickert moved to Flower Mound and opened his private practice Lone Star Ear, Nose and Throat Care in 2006. Cares more about what he thinks and his experience versus how the patient is feeling and how long they’ve dealt with the problem. Insurance denied ct scan because they wanted an ultrasound first. The doctor wouldn’t do the...Read More
