He specializes in disorders of the brain and spine and is an advocate for nonsurgical approaches to the spine. He has served as president of the Oregon Neurosurgical society, and pioneered the development of the sports head injury program for high school athletes in Central Oregon. He is credentialed and operates at St Charles medical center in Bend. He is one of the original founders of The Center: Orthopedic and Neurosurgical care and research."
