Dr Aasen has the worst approach to pain management and to his patients that I have EVER seen in my 30 years' experience as a nurse and hospital care consultant and in my personal experience with pain management providers. My husband's severe chronic pain had been managed for many years by APM doctors. The PA said his Dr left, Dr Aasen was taking over and ordered that opioid medication be tapered off (he had not assessed or talked to my husband), so we requested an appointment with him. Dr Aasen never asked my husband how he was functioning, informed us that he did not care that my husband's pain and disability had been safely managed with opioids for many years, and did not care what the CDC and medical association guidelines recommended. He stated he had been practicing for X number of years and this is what he does, previous doctors were wrong, and how many years he had to practice before his kids were through college. No empathy; not patient centered or collaborative. Rate "0"

I am a doctor and have seen many doctors over the last 40 years. A few I have seen as a patient. He entered the room and told me what we were going to do. I told him we already tried that and other things. Otherwise, he did not talk to me. I assume he reviewed my record. He said that the previous doctor I had, did not do a good job. I knew better. The previous doctor has a very good reputation. He left practice with Dr Aasen, and I am now seeing my previous doctor. I have nothing good professionally to say about him.

I’ve been seeing Dr Aasen for over 15 years now. He is a kind of doctor who gets straight to the point, all business! Some people may see this as being “rude”, but he’s not. Especially with the Opioid Crisis going on! I would highly recommend Dr Aasen as a Pain Management provider!

After ablation to relieve my pain in 2-4 weeks, I had much more overall pain than before, and new very sharp pain whenever I took a step. At 4 week follow-up, after $45 copay, I saw an NP, who just told me it could take 4-8 weeks to feel better. After 6 weeks, pain worse, tried to contact Dr. left detailed message, he never called back. At 9 weeks, intolerable pain, tried to see Dr., told I could not, only his assistant, who could not see me for a month. Big waste of time and $.

This dr was very rude. He didn't review my chart before he made an assumption. This dr should not be working as a pain management dr. He is very judgmental. I spent three hours there and he only spent five minutes with me.
