Care Philosophy

An allergist is a pediatric and/or internal medicine physician who has undergone at least two additional years of specialized training in Allergy & Immunology.

No other physician specialty has this level of expertise in treating patients with these conditions.

When a person has an allergic reaction, it means their immune system mistakenly believes a substance is harmful and responds by trying to eliminate it. Allergic reactions can be mild, like a runny nose, or in rare cases, cause difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat and tongue, or even loss of consciousness.

While allergic disorders are very common, they are also very complex and require detailed care from a specialist. Our allergy & immunology doctor provides consultation, testing, treatment and continuing care for allergies and allergic conditions, plus testing and treatment for disorders of the immune system.

My family has been suffering for years with allergies, and two of our children with asthma. We are members of a local medical plan that requires us to see their providers (guess who!) with no relief or options. Finally bit the bullet and paid out of our own pocket to see Dr. Petrick and all I can say is thank god we did.  Her professional, almost teacher-like approach to each member of our family was both refreshing and enlightening.  So lucky to have her in our world now

Haven't had such a positive experience in a doctor's office in quite some time! Professional, really listened and very clearly explained the options for my seasonal allergies, which in turn was making my asthma far worse than normal. (Must have been a teacher as her explanations were clear without tuning into "doctor speak") I have a new plan!
Sebastopol, CA |
Talks condescendingly and flat-out lies about facts of scientific research. She is the classic "Know-it-all" doctor who tells you what to do and not to do; except her knowledge was incorrect. This is the most dangerous form of doctor that exists. On top of lies and arrogance, she also acts like she doesn't have the time of day, nor care about you or your problems. She really doesn't have time to listen to any of your questions, thoughts or concerns. Horrible!!
in santa rosa, ca |
Took the time to understand my questions and concerns. Very knowledgable, professional, and courteous.
in Petaluma, CA |
I used to go the previous practice location on Summerfield. Wow, what a change!! Dr. Petrick took the time to listen to my concerns, and had a plan for me straight away. I think I saw the Dr. at the old location once in 6 years. Great to have her in the community.
Petaluma, CA |
Brought my 5 year old in for allergy testing. Dr Petrick was wonderful with him! Some doctors who aren't pediatricians seem cold and awkward with kids -not this doctor! Now he's doing allergy shots weekly and looks forward to going! A 5 year old who isn't kicking and screaming for weekly shots - what does that tell you about this practice??? Amazing!!!
in Petaluma, CA |
She was cold, uncaring and unhelpful. Even my personal dr. was upset she did not do what he wanted her to do and referred me to another allergist.
in Ukiah, CA |
Compassionate teaching style. Listens to my questions without judging. Extremely knowledgeable and professional, while retaining a feeling that I'm her only patient of the day.
