Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, I attended college at the University of Florida and Medical School at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. My orthopaedic surgery residency training was completed at Vanderbilt, followed by an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Following fellowship, I returned to Vanderbilt for 3 years as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Traumatology. I am currently an Associate Professor in the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics, specializing in Orthopaedic Traumatology and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus Hospital. My outside interests include spending time with my wife and 2 daughters, mountain biking and Crossfit.

My approach to the treatment of patients with acute traumatic musculoskeletal injuries and fractures is to restore anatomic alignment and stability to the injured extremity to allow for early return of function and relief of pain. For patients with more chronic conditions such as nonunions, malunions and osteomyelitis offering not only a definitive solution to their problem, but also a patient-centered approach that recognizes the impact these conditions have had on multiple aspects of their lives.

Complex traumatic injuries of the musculoskeletal system, pelvic and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures of the lower extremity, complications of fractures including nonunion, malunion or delayed union and osteomyelitis.

Open reduction and internal fixation of fractures of the upper and lower extremities and pelvis, correction of malunited fractures, repair of non-healed fractures, surgical treatment of acute and chronic osteomyelitis and post-surgical orthopaedic infections, post-traumatic reconstruction of the foot and ankle, corrective osteotomies of the lower extremities.
