I was admitted through the ER for diverticulitis and a colovesical fistula. The first surgeon to see me wanted to do the procedure open and with a colostomy for 6-8 months. I then saw Dr. Ferrara and he was confident he could do the procedure minimally invasive with the robot. He was very thorough in his explanation and very confident in the outcome. I was very at ease and comfortable with Dr. Ferrara. The surgery went very well and while he did need to do an ileostomy, I only had it for 6 weeks. He did the ileostomy reversal with great results. His follow-up and beside manner is very caring and he uses the most up to date surgical techniques. I would highly recommend Dr. Ferrara.

Dr. Ferrara was my husband’s doctor for his colon resection surgeries. He is a wonderful doctor, he is knowledgeable, kind and genuine. He took the time to explain the procedure in detail so we had a good understanding of what to expect. He was patient with us, answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns. We never felt rushed when we met with Dr. Ferrara. He also kept in contact with his Oncologist to ensure they were on the same page. We are truly grateful to him for always going above and beyond to ensure my husband had the best care throughout this strenuous journey. We would highly recommend him.

I went in the hospital with severe abdominal pain. While in the hospital I was diagnosed with critical diverticulitis that needed surgery. As I was on blood thinners and had to get off of them before surgery, I stayed in the hospital for a few days just to get my blood count ready for surgery. I asked to see two different surgeons to get opinions about this surgery. I also had time to look up credentials and Dr. Ferrara was the second doctor I saw. I chose him because of good reports from the nurses, credentials and his kindness and patience. Also, he is very up-to-date on the newest and best surgery practices. Someone from his group visited me every day and, also, Dr. Ferrara visited every day before and after surgery. He completed the surgery using the laproscopic method and kept my family and me informed before and after the surgery. I have made a complete recovery. I would highly recommend him.
