Dr Marc El Khoury is the Associate Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship program at Westchester Medical center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Division of Infectious Diseases at New York Medical College. Dr. El Khoury received his Medical Degree from Saint Joseph University of Beirut with Honors, as well as completed his mastership in Medical Sciences. He did his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine in the American University of Beirut Medical Center. Dr El Khoury also did his residency in the United States at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and his Infectious Diseases Fellowship, at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College. Dr. El Khoury is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Dr. El Khoury's principal research interests are Powassan meningoencephalitis (Deer tick virus), babesiosis, neuroinvasive infections, with other research activities in HIV infection and infections in immunosuppressed hosts and investigational antimicrobial agents. He was Invited as a speaker for the American Society of tropical Medicine and hygiene (ASTMH) 61st annual meeting in Atlanta and presented the updates on Deer tick virus Infections in Lyme endemic areas. Dr. El Khoury serves as a member of the review panel for IPRO (Island Peer Review Organization)/ Lumetra Healthcare solutions; performing extensive quality management review of past and current medical practice for the VA health care system. He authored over 15 published papers in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. Dr El Khoury has won best teacher awards from the Medical Residents at Westchester Medical Center for 3 consecutive years (2009 to 2012). Dr El Khoury is fluent in French and Arabic with limited fluency in Spanish.
