I had a serious ankle injury and Dr. Baxter performed my surgery. The surgery was done perfectly and my bones have completely healed and after only 3 months I'm almost back to 100%. He was very attentive, patient with my questions, and saw me regularly until I was released. He is friendly and compassionate and the staff at Hughston Orthopedics in Nashville are amazing. I never had a problem getting an appointment to see him and never spent more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. At my last appointment I felt like I should hug the nurses and ladies at the desk because they were always so sweet to me. I would recommend Hughston Orthopedics and Dr. Baxter to anyone who needs a great orthopedic surgeon. I will certainly go back if I ever have the need.

He seems like a knowledgeable guy, his bedside manner could just use some work. I never got to ask the question I came to ask. (I wasn't sure if I could go back to karate.) He kept interrupting me to tell me what he thought. I got plenty of choices, but no final recommendation. I guess it's up to me to decide. Took my daughter during the same appointment. Didn't listen to her story, either. Just told us she's a girl with hormones making her joints loose. Oh and teenage girls rarely do their physical therapy, sooo... (Was that supposed to be motivational?) If he had dug a little deeper, he would have known she was great with her physical therapy from her foot surgery. She wants to feel better. She's tired of hurting. We'll be going to someone that is interested in helping us find a solution to our problems so we can be strong and healthy... and get back to karate!

I had a total hip replacement surgery in 2012 performed by Dr. Baxter. It gave me a new lease on life! As with any medical procedure, the surgery alone is only part of the process. Your physical therapy and your own willingness to "work" post surgery will help bring about a positive outcome. I wholeheartedly recommend this doctor.

I had broken my finger in several places and Dr. Baxter had my case added on the following day for surgery. He is a spiritual man who prayed for me right before taking me into the operating room. I would highly recommend him as he is also thorough, knowledgeable and kind. He listens to the concerns of his patients and is willing to answer any questions you may have.

I suffered a burst bursa. It became infected and he kept me on continuous antibiotics for several months. Causing severe hemorrhoid issues requiring subsequent surgery. Would not order MRI until I threatened to change Doctors. When he did, he filed with the workers comp carrier that the MRI was not work related, even though he knew it was and I had been referred to him by my employer for treatment under WC. > 1 yr collections agency trying to collect. MRI indicated surgery. Poor attitude.
