Dr. Hakim did a lymph node biopsy incorrectly on me, resulting in me getting a false positive for cancer. I found out from another doctor at Hopkins that this test is not even approved and they don't perform it anywhere else because it is not valid. Dr. Hakim would call me constantly telling me I 100% had thyroid cancer. Dr. Hakim's staff also lied to me directly saying that my doctor at Hopkins said I had to have the biopsy repeated right away by Dr. Hakim. Hopkins confirmed this was a lie, and there was no record of contact by Dr. Hakim's office. Lies, unethical behavior, and just bad medicine.

Once you get in there, she's a decent doctor. But expect to wait 30 minutes in the waiting room and then another 30 after the nurse leaves, all for maybe 15 minutes with her. If she prescribes you something? Call at least a week before you need refills, she takes about that long to approve them. Repeated calls don't help. I've left 2 messages and have now been off my diabetes medicine for a week because she hasn't approved the refill yet.

I have been seeing Dr. Hakim for three years for a benign thyroid tumor. I find her to be caring and knowledgeable. I came to her by referral from a trusted family physician.

Dr. Hakim is very personable and knowledgeable about Thyroid conditions and autoimmune disease as well. I was super glad I found such a wonderful physician within the first try, I'd never seen an endocrinologist before. She performed an ultrasound and answered all my questions fully, and I was very comfortable with her. Her office staff are great so far as well, and got me in the next day when there was a cancellation for her.

I hear Dr. Hakim is marvelous, that's why I patiently waited for 2 months to get it. After I got there, I finally got registered, weighed and put in a room, after fasting for 17 hours expecting blood work. While waiting for the doctor, the office manager came in and said they didn't accept my insurance! So I explained that I had asked if they did prior to making my appointment and was assured they did! She then told me I should have asked the billing department! As if this was my mistake!

Dr Hakim is excellent. She is thorough and listens to me not just my lab results. I never have an issue with return phone calls or emergency visits. I do have to wait a long time in waiting room but it is worth it to see someone as caring and knowledgeable as Dr. Hakim.

Great doctor who cares a lot about her patients. Be prepared to wait at least and hour after your appointment time to be seen. Never on time!

Dr. Hakim is wonderful and listens to the patient. However, if you are unlucky enough to not be seen by her but an asst., you will have the opposite experience. It took me 2 years of persistence to keep requesting a specific panel of tests that helped her diagnose my Hashimoto's. All typical tests that she and other doctors had been ordering in the past had led to "normal" results. No matter how good the doctor, never stop being a self-advocate, or you may never find answers or relief.

The staff in the front office are not friendly at all. Dr. Hakim's PA, Jinhui Yuan is awful, but you have to see her after your initial visit with Dr. Hakim because Dr. Hakim is booked months in advance. This office should not be accepting new patients because they obviously can't get patients in in a reasonable amount of time. Dr. Hakim was very thorough and explained my issues well. I liked her very much, but her efforts have not been successful so far.
