Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Sohrevardi I am one of the endocrinologists at Rush. We are focusing on abnormal hormonal production, such as either excessive hormone production or lack of adequate amount of hormone production. All the new research out there it's helping physicians to make better choices for treating their patients. Obviously, endocrinology is a very evolving, new field, and we are having very excellent treatment options now compared to a few years ago.

Horrible experience this doctor has no business advertising an area of interest of testosterone management. She did not listen to a word I said or ask for a single test of which I brought 20 years of blood work along for my visit. She talked over me and ignored my concerns.
Chicago, IL |
Dr Sohrevardi doesn't listen, doesn't answer important messages, doesn't explain outcomes and prognosis, is condescending, gives incomplete information, and only showed signs of interest and compassion when I lost weight. She ordered tests for me and didn't follow up with me about the results. She didn't follow up on notes from my other doctor. She was dismissive of two other doctors' diagnosis (that were the same as each other). I am very very frustrated. Hope to switch to someone else.
Chicago |
Since switching to the Omnipod insulin pump for my type 1 diabetes in January 2016, my A1C% has jumped from 5.9% to 7.0% in six months. I approached Dr. Sohrevardi several times with concerns about my blood sugars, noting that they'd be trending in the 200s. She printed out 3-days worth of blood sugars, pointed at a 140 (fasting!) reading and said, this doesn't look like 200 to me. I also heard her and the nurses betting on what my A1C% would be as they were waiting in the hall.
Chicago, IL |
All of the changes Dr. Sohrevardi recommended for care of my diabetes (type 1) were unfortunately off-base. She would not listen to my concerns and my explanations for certain dips and peaks in my blood sugars and insisted on radical changes simply because my chosen basal rates, carb ratios, and correction ratios looked strange in themselves, not because of their effect. Switching endocrinologists immediately.

Dr. Sohrevardi doesn't understand how to treat the disease of Hashimotos Thyroiditis. She lacks compassion and was condescending to me. She needs to realize she doesn't know it all. A dose of humility would benefit her.
Chicago, IL |
She charges you unnecessary exams.
