The Physician has been charged with providing false information on his applications for licensure in Ohio.
The United Kingdom had suspended the Physician's registration for 12 months in January 2004 for serious professional misconduct.
The Physician removed the healthy kidney of a patient.
The patient was to undergo a right nephrectomy. The patient had seen the Physician many times and the Physician was very familiar with the patient's history.
The Physician had opted not to disturb the patient during his pre-operative rounds as the patient was sleeping. When the patient was brought into the operating theater, the left side was prepped instead of the right. The Physician operated on the wrong side and removed the healthy kidney. The patient eventually died.
The Physician did not report this information on any of his applications in the State of Ohio.
Action Taken:
The Board has Revoked the Physician's license to practice medicine in Ohio.

The Physician has filed for an appeal of the Board's decision.

The Franklin County Court of Common Pleas has affirmed the Board's order of revocation.
