Practice of Medicine is a responsibility, an art, and noble profession. The discipline of Nephrology is not symptom driven. No one knows if their kidney function is not perfect. Moreover, almost all kidney diseases are painless. That is why Kidney disease is a silent killer and frequently discovered when it is too late to stop it or slow it down. Every patient is unique and treatment should be tailored to the patient. There is no "one size fits all". Careful thinking is needed to diagnose and treat properly.
A physician and a scientist. Caring for patients is an honor. I take the time to talk to my patients which they all appreciate. Spending time with patients and explaining their problem is a challenge to all physicians because of the assembly line medical practices forced by economic drivers. I do not subscribe to this approach and insist to give my patients the time they need to ask questions.
