After driving 40 minutes with hip pain, Dr. Ashberg claimed he was on a tight schedule, complained that I was a few minutes late, and refused to give me a hip injection or offer any other treatment. He actually suggested that I get another doctor or come back some other time, and was quite arrogant in his attitude. I was shocked, and left in pain. I called the office manager Who was supposed to follow up and get back to me but I never heard from her nor anyone else. I would never use this medical practice again.

My original appt with Dr Ashberg was a 2nd opinion. I was a bit apprehensive at first but he made me feel better right away. He was respectful of the other Dr I saw previously, even though I was very upset. We built an awesome rapport and I trusted him to perform my hip arthroscopy (reconstruction). The surgery was a success and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to Dr Ashberg and the entire staff for such a positive experience. I would (and have) highly recommend Dr Lyall Ashberg!

Dr Ashberg is one of the best Orthopedic surgeons I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He has wonderful bedside manner, is up on the newest procedures and leans towards less invasion/less painful before surgery as a last resort. I would highly recommend Dr Ashberg for any hip problems.

Worst Dr. there is for your hip surgery. Had surgery on 3/13/18 spent 13 days at rehab center with sever pain in leg. could not put any weight on that leg that had surgery. He said to me he didn't know whats wrong with me. maybe you didn't need hip surgery, maybe its something else. 7 months later he says he thinks he put the wrong size hip socket in and there is an impingement in the hip flexor muscles. 2 years later i need a cane to walk still cant put weight on that leg and still have serve pain in thigh and surrounding muscles. have tried all kinks of therapy but nothing is making it better. i have been told that the Dr. probably cut or severely damaged the lateral cutaneous nerve and the femoral nerve and there is no hope they will recover. i also have a lot of muscle atrophy in that leg. i am 70 years old and was in excellent shape. . This Dr. has ruined my retirement years. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DR.

My daughter had to have emergency surgery on her hip and we were lucky enough that Dr Ashberg was the Orthopedic Dr on call. He has been amazing to work with. Not only did he help her through her surgery successfully, but identified (before it became an emergency) that she needed surgery on her other hip! We are so grateful for Dr Ashberg and his team who have taken extraordinary care of our 12 year old daughter. Would highly recommend him!

I can not say enough great things about Dr. Ashberg, Donna, Cathy, Nakia, Jennifer and the entire office staff. They all went above & beyond with my care. Dr. Ashberg listens, explains, shows you want you need to know. He does not make you feel rushed, he's compassionate, kind and he went out of his way with communicating with us, referrals, really anything he could do to further my treatment. The office staff - outstanding as well. Very kind, personable, compassionate, and they all did everything they could to accommodate me and move the process along as quick as possible. We highly recommend Dr. Ashberg.

Dr. Ashberg performed emergency surgery on my two-year-old's knee after diagnosis of septic arthritis. He explained everything to me and was calm and soothing when I was an emotional mess. He was able to save my daughter's knee and possibly her life. Thank you Dr. Ashberg.

Excellent manner and sense of humor. Listened patiently and asked questions in order to understand my presenting problems. Showed me my X-rays and explained the source of my pain. Referred me for an MRI and to his associate who specializes in pain management. Very pleased with the office staff as well and would recommend highly.

My elderly father met with Dr. Ashberg following a fall that resulted in a non-displaced wrist fracture (broken bone still aligned). Dr. Ashberg showed us the break on the x-ray which seemed relatively minor. He decided to keep the splint on for one week to allow for healing of a hand wound before putting a cast on. One week later he informed us that since a cast was not placed immediately his condition is much worse-requiring a complicated surgery to insert metal pins & plates into his wrist!
