About Me

Care Philosophy

I take the fight against cancer personally. I lost my father to esophageal cancer. I understand the disruption cancer causes in a family. Attempting to understand the disease, treatment options, and make life changing decisions can seem overwhelming....

When I was first diagnosed with the cancer, "chemo" was mentioned as an after thought. The referral to this office was a Godsend!!! Dr Nordquist took control of my care and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. The staff here are phenomenal!! I always feel that I couldn't be at a better place for my situation! Thank you for all the work that you do!! Your staff is top notch! I'm pretty sure that you saved my life. Thanks again!-R.H.

When I first met Dr. Nordquist I had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer with a PSA over 730 and a very dismal prognosis. Dr. Luke assured me of a much rosier prognosis and that was in June 2007. Having been a patient at UCC since it's opening, I've gotten to know a lot of the staff. Their knowledge, professionalism and sincere caring for the patient is evident at every visit. This goes for all departments, not just medical staff! Bless you all!

I have been very blessed that my primary physician referred me to Dr. Nordquist. His specialized care and the support of his staff have been very professional and beneficial throughout my care at his facility. I had given up on any type of normalcy in life going forward and now look forward to each day. Many thanks!

I was referred to Dr. Nordquist by my surgeon after PSA rose after prostate surgery. It has been extremely stressful for my wife and I but Dr. Nordquist put us at ease. His staff was exceptional, the office setting warm and inviting and he was friendly, professional but most of all knowledgeable. He took lots of time to explain everything in detail and to answer every question.

Purpose of appointment was to determine whether new treatments approaches would available. The result of this initial consultation was an immediate transfer of treatment care to Dr. Nordquist and the team of care professionals. From the front desk to the departing handshake, it was a beautifully aligned experience. What a superb blend of caring competent professionals with patient satisfaction driving processes.

Following a disappointing experience with my urologist in Lincoln, I self-referred to Dr. Nordquist. (He came highly recommended by some good friends). His office is modern and very clean. His staff treated me very well and they were both helpful and supportive. Dr. Luke took time to explain my medical situation and offer quarterly medical follow-up and PSA monitoring. I have been with him and his staff for 3 years and am totally satisfied with his services.

I have been associated with Dr. Nordquist and staff for over seven years. I find them to be professional, empathatic, very clear at explaining treatment options, and highly successful in facilitating medical professional/patient bonds. I have been most impressed at the number of experimental treatment options available to patients that qualify. I have participated in a good number of studies to date. An office is only as good as their weakest link. There are none at the Oncol. Can. Ctr!

I was unlucky getting cancer, but certainly lucked out when referred to Dr. Nordquist. He is extremely intelligent and explains things very clearly and addressed each of my concerns. His staff really seems to care for their patients and were always able to make me smile no matter how terrible I felt. I hope I don't have to refer anyone myself, but if I do, Dr. Nordquist and his team will always be first choice.

I started with a clinical trial for bladder cancer. That was unsuccessful. Then I began treatments for cancer that entered my lymph nodes. I have had excellent care and take treatments every 2 weeks. Dr. Nordquist and his nursing staff are friendly and helpful. They are efficient in providing treatment and I appreciate their friendly attitude.

Despite a few negative reviews I would highly recommend Dr. Nordquist as one of my principal caregivers. I found him late in my treatment and feel he will be a great asset in my ongoing care along with my urologist. My advice for anyone struggling with prostate cancer: get several opinions to make an informed decision. There are many approaches to treatment of this disease. Dr. Nordquist is great because he explains the basics of cancer, options for treatment and does cutting-edge research.
