I had colon surgery about 10 years ago in a different city in Texas. The last two weeks I have had really bad pain in the same area. I made an appointment with Dr. Lucrecia Sta Ana two weeks ago. I just received a call from her office just 4 hours before my appointment saying they refer my to any other colon rectal surgeon except Dr. Lucrecia Sta Ana. They gave me no other reason other than she can’t see me. How unprofessional and uncaring. I’ve been in pain and really looking forward to this appointment. Now I have to find another doctor and wait even longer to be seen.

I had my hemorrhoid surgery last year. She adviced there was no other option eventhough I had 2nd degree hemmoroid. I was bed ridden for 3 months after she did the surgery. I had follow ups after my surgery but she didn't care about my pain. She actually made it worse by inserting an Anoscope to see why it was not healing. I went to to see another doctor after 4 months and was told the surgery wasn't done right and i had complications. The biggest mistake I did was trusting her. Always seek second opinion.

I went in for my normal 5 yr colonoscopy Mar 2019. Polyps were found and immediately Dr. Sta Ana advised part of my colon had to be removed. 2 days after the procedure she advised that there was no other option and she had scheduled surgery the next week. I advised that I could not make the decision right then and she advised I needed the surgery right away. After conferring with another gastro doc, he advised the polyps could be removed w/o surgery. Colonoscopy could be done with saline solution lifting the polyps off the colon. Because some were quite large I may have to have another procedure in 3 months. I had the 2nd colonoscopy in Apr 2019. Most of the polyps were removed. Pathology report indicated all polyps benign. Remaining polyps will be removed in 3 mon. Never received requested pathology report from Dr. Sta Ana office. Office staff was persistent in trying to get me to have the surg. I don't recommend Dr. Sta Ana. Very persistent surgeon. Seek 2nd opinion.

I came in with considerable fear of surgical needs. She is exceptional in giving the patient honest expectations of surgical recovery, and advice to order to make recovery as pleasant as possible. She is very patient and considerate. Great experience!!!
