I had a cervical disk replacement, I have had other surgeries for other problems but Dr. Nkrumah, meeting for the first time, the day of the surgery and the follow up visits were great. The whole process was like I was talking with a old friend who is really smart. My name is Matthew C. and I feel like I hit the jackpot with him! All the symptoms I had are now gone, he made himself available for any questions at any time. If you are looking for a really great surgeon and person I would recommend him completely. Not sure what else to say I don't write reviews good or bad but I am compelled to say how happy I am with all he has done for me. Thank you Dr. Louis Nkrumah.

My father went in to the emergency room for a back accident. He needed emergency back surgery. We were very fortunate enough to have Dr. Nkrumah as my fathers surgeon. He was wonderful, very kind and comforting and very informative. Dr. Nkrumah was able to make small incisions on the back instead of one large incision (this would help with recovery and decrease the chance of an infection). My father is now 2 weeks post surgery and is walking by himself! We are forever grateful for Dr. Nkrumah and his team and would recommend him to everyone!

I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon. Dr Nkrumah did an excellent job. He used the latest least invasive techniques. He was very thorough in his explanation of all the steps of my surgery prep, details of the surgery itself and what my recovery would be like and everything went just as he had said. He was very patient with my questions, honest, humble and empathetic. I would have no problem recommending him to anyone at all, I think he’s top notch.

In December 2019 I fell off a 10 foot ladder and shattered my L1 vertebrae. Dr. Nkrumah was on-call that night. He said he wanted to do the least invasive surgery but wanted an MRI first. As I returned from the MRI I heard him talking to a colleague on the phone and saying, “I can do this surgery, you have to trust me.” He elected to wait one day to do the surgery so the OR team he wanted to work with would be available. He could have opted to just do the typical spinal fusion in a shorter amount of time, but he chose to do the less invasive version that was more complicated and took longer. The surgery he did the following day went well. We checked in every 90 days for the next year. I have made a full recovery with good range of motion and NO PAIN! Due to the less invasive surgery I believe I had a faster recovery. Dr. Nkrumah is a great doctor. He is smart, patient oriented and uses the latest techniques. He is also very personable and humble. I recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Nkrumah made me feel very comfortable and confident about my surgery. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. The surgery itself went very well, and for the first time in 6 years I am pain free. I am very pleased with Dr. Nkrumah and his staff. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Nkrumah helped me to a point I just can't thank him enough. He was honest, compassionate and straight forward telling me the pros and cons of both surgeries The Diagnosis was Scoliosis and Stenosis. He encouraged me to lose 40 lbs. so I could have the stenosis addressed and said I may never have to take care of the slow moving scoliosis. I can stand straight for the first time in years and although I wish healing would go faster I'm more than happy with the results.

Dr. Nkrumah essentially saved my life during his fellowship at Virginia Mason. I had complex spinal fusion due to scoliosis and developed a severe post op wound infection with sepsis. Dr. Nkrumah and team did a washout and debridement, and then followed me closely during my recovery. I also credit great antibiotics, however Dr. Nkrumah took the time to do a thorough surgery which I credit with my amazing recovery and second chance at life.
