Very professional, informative and genuine pre-op appointment. My wife was impressed as well by Dr. L’s Patience and desire to help us process the pros and cons of my upcoming procedure. Dr. L’s work yesterday helped us both feel encouraged and hopeful in pursuing this procedure.

I have been battling lower back pain for years, after reviewing the xrays and MRI Dr Loutz informed me that I needed fusion of three vertebra. Dr Loutz went through the procedure and recovery step by step. Each visit He gave me all the time I needed and answered all my questions. My procedure was very successful I am totally pain free and ready for ski season. Dr Loutz is the man.

After many, many years of back issues, I visited with Dr Loutzenhiser hoping to find a solution. Dr Loutzenhiser very efficiently showed me that in addition to a broken back, I was bone on bone. My spine hand shifted laterally and was quite unstable. Dr Loutzenhiser confidently explained all options including several non-surgical treatments. In February I had surgery where discs were replaced, my spine was repaired and fused L-4 to S-1. I was out of bed and walking an hour after leaving recovery. I have really had no recovery issues, set-backs or concerns at all. My severe spinal lateral shift has been corrected also. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr Loutzenhiser, Panorama and Ortho. Colorado Hospital. Dr Loutzenhiser is truly an expert in his field!

He as always is very in formative and he's more on the conservative side then let's do surgery! I find that attractive in a surgeon. He listens to you and I feel he certainly cares. This Dr. sent in one of his staff to let me know he was running late and apologized. What Dr. does that!!!.Mine does. He cares and is special.

Dr. Loutzeniser has been my orthopedic surgeon since last July. He walked me through a difficult diagnosis and recommended several treatment options. When it became apparent that surgery was necessary to get me back to an active lifestyle, Dr. Loutzeniser explained the procedure he recommended in a thorough and professional manner. He stood by while I sought a second opinion and answered questions I had afterwards. On Feb 3, 2020, Dr. Loutzeniser performed lumbar spine surgery. Working with Dr. Ridge, they did a dual approach through the abdomen in and from the spine. I have been extremely pleased with the results thus far and commend Dr Loutzeniser for his expertise and his way of working with me.

Dr. Loutzenhiser is awesome!! Great bedside manner, knowledgable, confident, and requires that of his staff. Dr. Loutzenhiser gives all answers to your questions in an un rushed relaxed manner. His surgery Is amazing and he only operates on the best outcome for his patients like he did me. The support team is always there in an online portal which the doctors team checks daily and sends you automated messages asking how your doing etc after surgery. Don’t live with pain if you don’t have to! The doctors who need their backs fixed even go to this doctor.. Nice person too!

I was very unimpressed with Dr. Loutzenhiser. Given his background of solid reviews I had faith that he might be able to point me in a direction to resolve my sciatic nerve pain. I received two prior lumbar discectomies from a different orthopedic surgeon and wanted a second opinion. Not only was he 45 minutes late but didn’t even give me any options for relief. He stated I was too young for a disc replacement and proceeded to notate what “might be a tumor” on my MRI I provided, then said my nurse will call you and left. It’s been almost a month since my visit and I haven’t received so much as a phone call from his office. To have chronic pain for years and be swept past by another soul as a number surely keeps me hollow.

I couldn't be any happier with Dr. Loutzenhiser. I have had to have lower back fusion as well as a 3 level fusion in the neck due to degenerative discs and my occupation. Both turned out great. I have referred several friends and relatives to him and all of them are extremely happy. Can't imagine anyone having a bad experience with him.

Back in 2013, I was advised by my physical therapist to see a back doc for closer evaluation. My primary doc agreed & suggested someone else at Panorama, but I selected this doc, who immediately berated me, before two of his associates, that I was wasting his time; I had marked on the form that my pain was a 3 or 4 that day. I was on pain meds, I replied. As noted elsewhere, this doc can be rude & he continued to be off-putting. The damage done, I left humiliated, without help. In 2016, the pain so bad, I finally saw another doc, who found a cancerous mass nearly half the size of my kidney pressed against my spine, there quite likely, my oncologist believes, awaiting discovery in 2013. Things have been very unpleasant, before & certainly after 2016. Just thought you should know, in case you care. Be sure to mark a 10 for pain.

I've seen him before and he performed surgery on my back several years ago. He came highly recommended by another back surgeon who Doctor Loutzenhiser had performed surgery on. Very high praise. He communicates very well with patients explaining all of the problems, options and what to expect. I trust him.
