Dr. Lon Baronne was raised in Opelousas and Lafayette and attended ESA High School in Cade, Louisiana. He graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in Atlanta. He received his medical doctorate, graduating magna cum laude, from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. After finishing his orthopaedic surgery training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Dr. Baronne completed a spine surgery fellowship amongst pioneers in complex cervical spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Baronne's published research includes work on traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and lumbar fusion surgery. He has also authored book chapters on spondylolisthesis and spinal trauma. Dr. Baronne's primary clinical interests are cervical and lumbar spine disorders, complex cervical surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and microscopic spine surgery.
