I went to Dr. Alexander's office suspecting a problem with my contact lenses. Because I've never seen an ophthalmologist before and wasn't sure whether to go to my primary doctor, I called the office first and spoke to a triage nurse to make sure I was going to the right place. As soon as I explained the situation to Dr. Alexander, she told me that I shouldn't be there. Instead of ending the appointment, she continued to examine me -- and then charged me $250.
