In addition to his work with patients at Horizon Eye Care, Dr. Gaskin previously served as team ophthalmologist for the Carolina Panthers as well as the Charlotte Hornets. He has held the position of chief resident of ophthalmology at Emory University, chief of ophthalmology for Carolina Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital, and president for the N.C. Society to Prevent Blindness. Dr. Gaskin has also lent his expertise as past director of Piedmont Eye Clinic, and as a fundraiser for Charlotte's science museum, Discovery Place, and local hospital capital fund campaigns. He has served as chairman on the board of visitors for the Wake Forest University Divinity School. Dr. Gaskin is involved in a number of nonprofit organizations, including Prevent Blindness NC.
